A great little park for the kids. A sweet little water walk way in the city.

Beautiful area to take a walk, go fishing, have a picnic, take photos or just enjoy the day. There’s a large, free parking area next to a little park. If you take the rock trail on the left (in the parking lot) but to the right of the water it will take you towards the huge rock wall/jetty. 🌊☀️😎✌🏼

One of the more interesting parks I’ve been to in RI, Salter Grove is a great place to explore. Near the parking lot, there is a playground for kids, a sign commemorating the Gaspee Affair (an obscure but fascinating piece of US history), and a short trail through the woods and towards the shore. If go the other direction, however, you will come to a trail that’s surrounded on both sides by the bay. This will lead you to a rock pathway that goes both north and south. Following the pathway south will take you to Rock Island, where you can find some cool graffiti and beautiful views of the bay. It can get pretty wet there, so make sure to bring boots. Overall, Slater Grove is a nice park on the bay with a lot of cool graffiti, definitely worth a visit, particularly in the summer.
