How is my tall grass hurting anyone? It's good for the environment. Bees. I trim a walkway for people. Leave me alone. You people are literally paid by me (my tax dollars) - why pay you to harass me? I think Clearwater Code Enforcement is overfunded. I'll look into attending council meetings to continually vote no confidence.

I live next door to a house with a VERY LARGE overgrown ear tree. It has already caused me to replace a section of my fence because a branch fell on it. The previous owner had the tree trimmed back in 2001. Since then it is growing into the powerlines, and overlaps numerous properties. The current owner has no plans to trim it. I am at my wits end. I have been told by code enforcement the owner does not have to trim his tree. No matter how much damage it may cause to property around them. I can pay to have HIS tree trimmed and also pay to keep replacing the fence when it gets knocked down by branches, but the property owner where the tree is has no responsibility what so ever. I think codes need to be changed. This is not right. Where does personal responsibility come in?

So far, so good- they helped me getting rid of my neighbors overgrown tree- I suggest people use them so you don’t get sued- big help was City Arborist

This city of Clearwater cited me for "outside storage" on my front porch of which I gladly complied. I even went to the concil meeting to represent myself personally and to ensure recent removal of objects on my porch was acceptable. I even went beyond and trimmed my landscape and washed my house. I was ensure by everyone on the concil there was nothing to worry about. Now 100+ days later without ONE letter otherwise sent me a letter certified on a Saturday that I have been in violation the whole time and now I'm requested to pay 10,500$ for what was (but was fixed before the date they requested) a trash can and a few boxes. This can't just be by accident, they need to be held accountable. Thank you for reading this review. I hope you have a great day. Sincerely, Ian

Chickens actually do not make that much noise in general, rather pleasant in fact. I suggest you tell your neighbor to move them in the back yard if you don't like seeing them. I think you would be surprised what a friendly suggestion might do. As far as legal? You would have to firstly look up and make sure your actually within the city limits of Clearwater. If you are then chickens would not be allowed. Though I suggest you mind yourself because that same neighbor can make things just as difficult for you and he can find out who complained. I once got a 10,800 fine for a trash bag by my door (was there for less then 6 hours) and went unnotified for 70+ days. So unless you don't live at your house (actually not living in your house is a fine to) or should I say "act like you don't live at your house" and have everything perfect with not even a waver our of place, then go ahead and report. Otherwise I would just keep your head low. Sincerely, Citizen of Clearwater.
Even if they are not causing any issue for you, report them. You can anonymously call code enforcement on anyone, and its super fun to do. You probably want to call them weekly so they actually do something about this non issue.
