They completely let my family down. I also had my benefits cut of at the beginning of the year but I was working and I thought it was right. I then get hurt and have to take time off work so I reapply a month ago. I’ve been in that place three times and have called the building, my case worker and the supervisor. I haven’t talked to anybody or gotten a call back once. I’ve ran out of money and I’ve started selling my possessions just to put food on the table. All I’ve asked for is an answer. Like everyone else on here, I just want to know if and when I can expect to be approved or denied.

Update**** The response on here to email them so they can help is BS. Still no help! Absolutely ridiculous. Fraud. I have had issues with fraud with DHS since January!!!! I had everything taken out of the account for both cash and food ebt. I reported it, jumped through hoops, and it happened the next month as well before they even finished processing the prior month. They eventually had to do a entirely new account. It took almost 2 whole months to get help from DHS. Now it happened this month as well!!! I immediately put a call to my worker, of course no answer. I filed the claims, and police reports, kept calling my worker, no answer ever!!! VM is full. Tried supervisor, no answer or return of call! Went down to the office made sure they had everything they needed and still nothing!!!! Ebt food is supposed to be put in the account that is already compromised in the next couple days and I am trying to alert them so it doesn’t get taken as well. I am at a loss of what to do. I can’t pay rent, bills, or buy food for my kids. I am in the welfare to work program, and a full time student at CSUB, and a single mama of 4 babies!!! I am so frustrated and scared!!!! And the worst part is the way the workers treat people down at the office!!!! I watched the workers ignore people politely trying to ask where to go! Numerous times one woman that worked there ignored people and walked away. Horrible office!!!! I get that this is welfare, but guess what these people are still human beings and they need help, and deserve to be treated with respect same as everyone else!

Put in an application for general assistance April 7th. 3 months later still no interview, so I call to see where I am in the process. They tell me to come in and be seen. 2 1/2 hr wait in the heat to have the people at the front try telling me stuff they have no clue about. They end up telling me I have to file a new application. When I get seen at the window, I bring up my application from three months ago. They pull up the information and tell me it’s there, I don’t need to file a new application, and it should not be taking this long for me to have an interview. People in the line were telling me they’ve applied a month after I have and have had their interview’s already today is July 6th

This review would be Negative if it was possible! For the past 5-months my Cal-fresh benefits have also been taken away! I’ve been in the phone trying to get help so my son and I can have food! I’m disabled and need assistance and help filling out paperwork ( I was told that was sent in my mailbox!! Never got it!!) Now for awhile I have no caseworker/ benefits or food stamps!! Cannot get call backs as this has been going on for Months and them telling me I would get a call back through the day!! 😡 Have my phone with me 24/7 & no calls or anything! When I do call back I’m being told that they did call me and it shows on there computer/!? Or they left me a message to check my phone!! Why can’t anyone do there job and call and help me and my child?! I had to borrow from loan places to put food on our table with money I do not have and having to pay it back with interest!! Now I can’t pay utilities/ rent due to Stupidity!! All the phone numbers and contacts are useless/ never hear anything back/ is it easier for people to claim they called & you didn’t answer! In Reality they are not doing their job & in response to the calling back ( Me ) just typing in called & no response!! BS 😡 I would never do this to anyone/ why would you have these people employed with all the Bad Reviews & what we’re saying & asking for help and assistance!? If I happen to get help with my disabilities & find a ride down there and able to walk, stand, etc.. Will I be turned away & give me numbers to contact me back that They Never Do or Not doing something about Anything for helping me/ us!! Good Old USA Right!!!!!!

call your insurance company they will mail it to you healthnet or kern family god bless or go insurance website you have to be registered online to do it online over phone itll be quick
maybe it will result in over worked workers being heard and given more people or resources to help the community
Most paperwork or "notice of action's" require appointments w/your worker! You might check their app! The "best" way to assure that your needs are met, is to see your worker! Good luck...
It changes often, so it's best to ask one of the security people around the premises
The phone lines are always busy. The best thing to do is personally go there, stand in line . And yes you can go online to their website set up an account by following the prompts to sign up.
Are u asking if u can request a new EBT card online?
Every Monday's AM starts @ 9:30 am sharp and PM orientation @ 2:30 pm sharp.
Call your assigned worker for information or 631-6000 info line.
U need to contact your cashaid worker or your Welfare to Work Social Worker.
Yes but I am saction
If you are asking about SNAP eligibility, you are ok for now w/out issue...but notify them ASAP (in person is best) Your State ID is very important to update! Good Luck!
There are "hotlines" for reporting many types of "program" fraud! IRS, SSA, Insurance etc... Usually are numbers listed in the phone book! I hope that was the question you were asking!!
U can drop it in the box in the front of the building instead of waiting in the line
Probably your birth certificate
No
I'm currently staying with a family member..I am blessed not to be on the street...but I do need to find housing.
Social security office on Haley is accepting in office requests
Call ur worker or get the appeal number on the back of the letters they send.
Hello, if you would like further assistance with your concerns, please call 661.631.6600. thank you.
Go to the county building and they got applications outside the door and fill them out. Wait until you are next in line and they will take it inside for processing and they give you a receipt.
The Kern County Hall of Records on Truxtun Avenue is the correct place to obtain a copy of a birth certificate if the child was born in Kern County.
Hello Storm, there are several emails, can you help me by clarifying the area of your inquiry?
Have you tried to apply online at www.c4yourself.com This is the simplest process.
If you have an account on c4yoursef.com, you can upload them there.
Who are you? And who is that?
Yes u can go online ur self !!!
I believe the office is open from 8:30 until 1:30

Medi Cal will pay for your Medicare payment if you qualify.
Food stamps come on the last number on your ebt card. If the last number is a 0 then you will get your stamps on the 10th of each month
Food Stamps and MediCal are always available depending your income. As a rule of thumb as long as your income is below $1400 you can qualify for Medical, if you have a rent expense of at least $500 plus utilities and income that doesn't exceed $1400 you can qualify for food stamps. If you have children there's Cash Aid but the income and property value limits are different. If you don't have children you can qualify for General Assistance as long as you meet property and income limits and have submitted applications for unemployment or disability/SSD. Keep in mind your homelessness, joblessness, and medical condition will need to be verified by the state and medical professionals in the GA program.
Depends on which office and what you're trying to do? There's different emails for workers, for submitting verifications and different offices within.
You'll still receive your benefits but change of address needs to be reported within 10 days, otherwise you're risking not receiving important documents like your IRT Limit, SAR 7 or requests for verification.
Mondays at 10 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. for English. Spanish is on Wednesdays at 9 a.m. I think. No kids and you have to be on time or else they won't let you in.
You can go to the office, call and ask for an application or apply online at C4Yourself.com
wait for your interview day, if not received by then you can request one.
I think you can. Look on the window it may show you if they accept it. I know Washington State will take EBTs for Ca
It may be a mistake. Call 631-6000 and ask if it's an error and confirm the correct time.
The day you get issued benefits is always the same as the last number of your case. For example, if your case number is 1234567, your benefits will be issued on the 7th of every month even if that day is a holiday.
Yes, but if there are sponsors you need to show the information of the sponsor to receive help.
You can apply for food stamps at Catholic Social Charities on Chester, if it's more convenient on days like this! Actually, anytime during working hours. : )
You would need to call your worker ASAP! The general public wouldn't be able to answer that! They couldn't give you cover if you missed it either!
SNAP is not cash aid! You would have to qualify for it, and that means there's not a set time & date! You would need to speak to a worker! Come in w/the kitchen sink & wait some more! All depends on the situation & the worker!
Social security office
Thank you going to the office friday.
You have to talk to your worker as to how to proceed! You can report it online, but that just stops your lost card from being honored if presented! You still have to see your worker to reload a new card! Good Luck!
Yes! This is the place! There are some agencies like, Catholic Charities that can help you w/the Food Stamps issue! Good Luck...
Re-apply with new circumstances & ask for the 3 day option to receive them quicker! Good luck!
I would like to encourage you to look for Work and get a Job. Human Services has a Employment Resource room and onsite Staff to assist You. If You're homeless go to the Mission @ Kern County. Nevertheless, the best help I'd like to encourage you to look at is God and the Salvation by His grace.
If ask worker for emergency assistance yes you can but it will be deducted for next month
With any HHS determination (pro & con) a document will be provided to the client that explains to you what to do if you disagree w/their action! It describes how to ask for a "Hearing!" But...w/most of Trump Adminstration cuts in funding, your determination may have been decided accordingly! Most Hearings are (in the end) decided by a Federal Law Judge, should it remain "undecided" through the HHS Hearing! So, I would try that route first! There is a time limit for any Action HHS makes on the issue, though! Good luck...
Yes, u can go into office on California and checkin at kiosk to see worker to request new card. Make sure u have your case number. They will only issue one card in office every six months. If u lose before 6 months are done they will issue another however, it will have to be mailed.
Federal offices usually follow Federal guidelines as to holidays! Federal Holidays closed! On calendars you need to note if it is "observed" on different days than the actual holiday occurs!
You don't say if it's a current form, or a form from a different year? The library copies are .15¢ ? The IRS retains filings that you can have them copy & send to you! Good luck! I don't really understand your question... maybe someone else can answer!
Your worker can order a new BIC card for u. If u need the healthcare plan card ( Health Net or Kern Family, u need to contact them to send u a new card.
Yes! It would just specify to you current status! Contact your worker...
I don't know which card you are referring to? You can probably revert back to how long it took you in the first place...BIC cards are more difficult to replace due to the information it represents! Best to go in person & see your worker, or at least call them! Most cards are just that, plastic! The information entered on them is originally entered manually by your worker! Good luck!
Yes
There is a new housing program for the homeless.
No o it's free
You only have to renew if you are changing insurance! If you want to stay enrolled in the same insurance, you do nothing! But, you should contact Human Services to make sure that you understand the rules correctly! I MAY BE WRONG! The way things are going w/the Federal Government, you never know! Good Luck...
They start at 10 am on the dot. If late you will not be admitted.
Yes!
Hmm...your mother's MediCal should automatically follow her! All of her identification should be updated to show a new address! Most Medical Offices will update the change as she goes! There are phone #'s listed on her MediCal card to call & they will direct you how to proceed! There are in-home health workers everywhere! Ask around for trustworthy neighbors etc...
Probably! But, they will take it out of your SSI payments! People who have applied for SSI & waiting to receive it, "if" it is awarded & you are receiving aid, they will take that amount out of any SSA they receive! That is how any back-pay is short, also!
You don't say what you need a fax for? There are many programs within the Human Services Department! You might try looking on line & see if they reference the Program you are looking for, & they probably have a fax# If not, you can always call your "Social Worker!" Good Luck!!
It depends on the situation! General Assistance is to "temporarily" help people during a transition! Be it employment, pending SSI or SSA, unemployment insurance, etc.
A BIC Card is given when you have medical government benefits! It is issued through the State, based on approval from SSA, SSDI, MediCal! SSA issues a paper red, white & blue ribboned paper card for MediCare after your retirement age! Best bet is to contact (in person) the Dept. of Health Services! Good luck!
You can get an app @ Catholic Charities for $1.00, & then $7.00 for the ID! I don't know if SNAP offers a "free" ID, but they should be notified ASAP! Someone might try to use your lost one & then it's too late to avoid any charges associated w/your lost ID! Good luck!
YES!
Social Security Office
There is one inside by the line left hand side when you walk in i dont remember if they have one outside or not
It's always better to appear in person! That way, there is no excuse that they hadn't received it!
U get one from the office every 6 months but after that they mail it it's. New thing as of 7/1/18
Maybe you should go in person & get your workers # You should have received a letter in the mail that has contact info on it! Good Luck...
Call the # on your card to report it!! I know...you lost it! I had to ask around & one of my friends had their card w/# ! Good luck!
If you have already applied and, are awaiting a medi-cal card, you may want to check with the provider that you selected as well. So, I suggest that you call both parties once again (since it's important) and, explain to them the situation. Also, you may request a temporary one (paper form, that will be there in a couple of days) from the welfare office that will work as a card until the actual card gets there.
You might be able to make an appt. at the agency that issues the card! I doubt anything can be issued via the internet w/o going through the agency itself!!
Its usually a two-step process; go in and, apply and, set up an appointment that's within 72 business hours (this step takes about 1and a half to 2 hours), then when you come back to finish the process on your appointed time, the finishing process usually takes about an hour. Also, if you require Emergency Food Stamps, you'll get it on the appointment date.
Looks like you have an answer to your question about hotel vouchers! Good luck!
Whenever someone has a complaint, it is always best to ask for a Supervisor & remember NAMES! They usually attach instructions for hearings if you disagree w/their decisions! Good luck!
A lot of HHS rules, like most other business, run a Background check on their applicants! They ask a LOT of questions because their rules are pretty much "up front!" It also gives the State an "out" if your application is not fully completed, & it happens that people are not always honest when applying for benefits! (Obviously because they are in great need.) HHS, as well as other businesses do not want to award benefits, if there are "issues"with the applicant!
I believe a "Passport to Services" is a document issued by the Departments, that outlines what "benefits" you have received, & what other services you may be eligible for!?
Things must have really changed since I was struggling! Praise the Lord! If by SNAP you mean "food stamps"...I know application's are processed at the Human Services Office & sorry, I am unaware of a " Help Yourself Kiosk!"
Yes u can get it once a year now
8am-5pm Monday-Friday
Call your worker
Go to the office
Never
