It has taken me over a year to make the final decision to write this review as I am not the type to do it unless I am satisfied or disappointed with a provider. I first went to Dr. Kim in early 2021, I chose him after checking reviews for the best Dermatologists in the Koreatown area as I was facing a rare redness and itchiness on my eyes and sideburns. The office is very nice and clean which I love. Consultations for starters was $150 which was not too bad for a specialist fee. During the consultation, which was probably less than 5 mins, Dr. Kim first told me it was probably a fungal infection due to the wearing of face mask and face shield I had been wearing at work due to the pandemic and as a requirement for the type of job I perform, he said this had become very common at the time due to Covid. He prescribed me an anti fungal cream and also another expensive cream to apply around the area, not only he prescribed me with an expensive medication ($200 after applying a good rx coupon, reg price was $600 - for a “generic”), the presentation he prescribed was a large tube when the smaller presentation could’ve been cheaper. Three weeks after and the problem did not get any better, the itching and redness continued and it was driving me crazy specially at night time, so, I had to go back. The practice charged me $100 for a follow up. This second time he said it was some kind of allergic reaction to something and gave me like 4 Rxs, one of them was for this special shampoo, very small presentation costed me like $19, he also gave me this treatment of Cortisone tablets I had to take for one week which worked for the time being but did not solve the problem so I just gave up and didn’t even want to come back to continue to waste my money. Lots of details you might think and why do I write this review one year after? I just visited my general MD and she was able to diagnose my problem at the spot without hesitation: Seborrheic Dermatitis and gave me an Rx for a medication that’s doing it’s thing. Never been so disappointed in paying a ridiculous amount of money for a problem that was not solved or at least treated efficiently. This place needs to take accountability, having me pay $150 for first consultation and then another $100 for a follow up because the medication given the first time didn’t work due to a wrong diagnosis is shameful. Follow ups should be free at least on a short term if patient’s condition didn’t improve. Based in my own experience, I do not recommend this place.

Topnotch derm practice. My parents were the patients and they were very happy with everything. Very impressive staffs and doctor.

Best derm office ever!! And I've been to many! Easy access from building's underground parking to a clean, well-designed office. Friendly front desk people and nurses. Doctor is awesome. He gave me an accurate diagnosis and right treatment. He even asked me about my insurance, which I didn't have at the time of my visit, then took the extra time to call and check with my pharmacy to make sure the medicine he was writing for wasn't super expensive. WOW, I've never had a doctor do that for me. Ten stars!!!

This practice is really terrific. The office itself is clean and very nicely designed, the staff is friendly and was very helpful when I called to make an appointment. As for Dr. Kim, he couldn't have been nicer, knew his stuff and was happy to address all my questions and what i have to admit was a rather long written list of skin concerns I have had some time. I didn't have insurance coverage when I visited the office and what they charge for patients without insurance was very reasonable. I've been to several other dermatologists in LA that charge a lot more. Over all, I would give Dr. Kim and his practice more than 5 stars if I could.

For English speakers, the following is the translation: I was treated for good treatment. I recovered quickly and I am thankful. First, I started with the surgery to remove the nodules. The whole face was burned with an unknown allergy. I am thankful for being treated well with proper treatment.

I took the anti-inflammatory medicine prescribed by the doctor and used the ointment for about 1 week. Now it is clean and well-improved. Thank you. I'm afraid I might recur again ...
