Absolutely horrible traumatic experience from beginning to end. You would think that professionals who deal with dying patients and their families would have some compassion and empathy, but they have zero. The case manager was authoritarian and patronizing. Dr Sally Sample was the same. "Emergency" care was a nightmare. It took close to an hour of waiting on hold before I could get a nurse on the phone. Then I had to wait another hour to have a nurse come out to the house for an assessment before they would call the doctor. All of this just to tell me how to use a drug I already had in the house. After my mom died, no one called to offer any support at all. Just as well. Never would have thought it could be this stressful and upsetting to deal with a hospice service.

Please stay away from them at all cost if you care for your loved ones! These people made a very difficult situation for our family much more difficult and full of stress. As a whole, they lacked the basic elements that are fundamental to hospice care: compassion, empathy, and understanding. The in-house physician, Dr. Sally Sample was an arrogant, demanding, and rude individual who made me feel terrible, uncomfortable, and disrespected. She lacked bedside manners, which is one of the most critical aspects in medical training. They made impossible, illogical, and unreasonable demands that could have easily overburdened us as a family. Their social workers are better suited for employment at the DMV. They ruined our experience with hospice care and did not live up to what this type of care truly stands for. We ended up at Bridge Hospice and they have been great, compassionate, and professional!

Pathetic East Bay Hospice. My mother Eleida Picart still with East Bay Hospice for 4 months at Manor Care Nursing Home. BIG AGONY FOR MY MOTHER. NOW SHE IS AT LCV Facility Nursing Home and she is much better doing Physical Therapy Occupational therapy Speach Therapy and she improving every day. Horror Hospice. For my own opinion Euthanasia for elderly and frail patients. I don't recommend any Hospice they try to kill patients.
