Perryville Battlefield State Historic Site

We found this battlefield by searching for western theater civil war sites. Making this a stop was tremendous. The staff at the museum was helpful courteous and very knowledgeable. The field is pretty much as is from 1862. There are well marked walking trails with interpretive markers that help you comprehend what happened here and why. It's incredible to think that almost 8,000 soliders were casualties here. This is a great place to learn from history.

The lady in the museum helped me find out where exactly my ancestor would have been during the battle. We drove up to exactly that point and took pictures. What a great experience!

Beautiful park/historic site. Extremely well maintained. Over 19 miles of walking paths with historic information placed on points of interest. The museum is very well done. Over all it is a very educational and enjoyable place to visit, walk and learn.

This is one of the best Civil War preservation places I have ever seen and thank you for that because we should never forget the sacrifices are fore fathers made for are American freedoms. The video you show before the tour brings home the message of how each side suffered. The injured the dead and the missing. Thank you for all you do in teaching future generations
