This place is way cooler than people let on. It’s an extremely large rock mound of connecting formations. There are so many large boulders on top that you’re able to weave in and around. Some spaces are definitely really tight so you might have to ditch a backpack. There are more rocks that are more separated and some seem almost defy the laws of gravity with how they balance. As you climb up and look closely to the rocks you’ll notice names carved into the red granite by miners who had worked in the area. The signatures I could find dated back to the late 1800s. You can find about 30 different carvings spread out all over. I didn’t see it get an exact count. All in all this place is extremely neat to just be able to trek and explore. There are no shortage of stunning views once you reach the top🏞 ⚠️SUNSCREEN is so important here. It’s extremely hot in the summer and you will get burned if you’re up there for sure.

Great place to visit. The trail is asphalt surfaced, less than 1/2 mile I think, wheelchair friendly and info plagues are readable and braile. Side trails are well traveled and short. Great history of the red granite quarry is presented, from formation to use. Our total time in the park about 2 hrs. Our 10 year old grandson was enthused and easily managed the trail.

This place was so beautiful and fun. The rocks were crazy cool to be around and play on. The lake was beautiful, (I wish they had swimming). They view was wondering. And they also have a food truck, so after about an hour of climbing rocks you can get a bite to eat. I had the pulled pork nachos with all the toppings and a key lime snow cone. I thought it was a little pricey at first but it’s worth it the nachos are very large with a lot of meat and cheese and the snow cone was so yummy. I was not disappointed, 10/10 would recommend especially to family’s (they have a small park and lots of picnic tables)

Yes, also look for birds, squirrels, droppings from rodents and other animals
Always busy on weekends. It's completely different on weekdays if you can do it.
Most are around 1 mile. There are a few longer ones nearby, however.
The granite looks like elephants...beautiful views at the top
She would love Elephant Rocks! And just a short drive away, in Caledonia, they have an old fashioned candy store. We usually do the two together. It's so much fun.
