December 2021 This is a quiet, lovely stop to stretch your legs and wander around some history. We stopped by on a sunny weekend morning and had the place to ourselves. The 1830 Church has been renovated but retains much original material - like a two foot wall of adobe. The Church is actually functioning - earlier, we met a lady in Warner Springs who got married there. It is 'open' for visitors, unattended. Testimony to the honor and integrity of its nature. Histrical placks, church activities and local events are places around the building. There is a Cemetery just a short walk up a dirt road, but is marked No Trespassing by the local Indian tribe who own the land. We honored the sign and viewed only from a distance.

So much history here. A spiritual experience.

This church was established in 1830. 1830!! Restored and rededicated in 1995. Bell from 1945. It's amazing that you can walk in and experience the inside as well (with respect - church still holds services). Make sure to pop over the hill …
