Water is clean. Lifejacket are available to borrow for free. Beautiful scenery. People come here with dogs, so atmosphere is rather friendly. When we were there, on the other side of the river there were goats.

Great place to enjoy nature with kids. Parking is free. BBQ’s are not allowed.

Gorgeous place, very quiet and secluded. The water is pretty shallow, large dogs could walk quite a way in from the shore

My first time here and should've come through years ago when I first heard about this quiet, small beach. The water is shallow, the sand has been filled into the water so it's safe and comfortable to go in and cool off, and there's enough shade if you want it. Dogs romp, children play and it's actually clean through here. I did some sunbathing and relaxing for about an hour. Best time to come is late morning to mid-afternoon during the week. Weekends are probably crowded and noisy. This is one of Sacramento's best kept secrets, so, don't tell too many people about it!

(Forgot to add one to help GOOGLE must leave more than just bad reviews - If they are going to REVIEW at all) Anyways if you do not like dogs then this is not the place for you, People take there dogs to the beach here because there is not many places one can go with there dog - Sadly people have some BAD dogs - Or Bad OWNERs but reviews or Questions like this lead to NO PLACE to take a DOG - RULEs CA - Glad we left ...
Its one of the least clicky places in sac. Most locals go to the bars at night but by day you can usually find all the same friendly people that all know each other at sutters landing, of corse theres always an occasional tweeker but whatever. One of my favorite spots forsure
If you could Would you really want to Eat anything from this river??? I Questioned my dog going in it ... Dirty - So I would say no.
NO - But Plenty of Homeless in the Parking lots and all over so sure it would be fine - but would have to do it homeless style - if one went and popped up a tent - or legal Camper - the POLICE would be on top of you for sure as the Police seem to only bother the people who can PAY!!!
