August 2021. SARA Park is in a residential area near La Riviera Drive. It's more of an access point to the American River than an actual park. There is a small parking lot which seems to be kept closed, so you have to park on the street. Once you walk through the lot, you have to go up and then down the levee to get to the trails along the river. There are some lovely hidden spots along the river here to enjoy. I usually see bags hanging from trees here for folks to put their trash in. Please be a good neighbor and make use of them or bring your own trash bag with you. This time, I was very sad to see that someone left a broken lawn chair at the clay banks - but it was a bit too much for me to haul it away.

Really beautiful view of the river. There are some nice places to sit and I see people swim here but idk how clean the water is. There seems to be fish too. Its kinda secluded in a neighborhood area so its not too crowded as of now so thats also nice for social distancing. Really beautiful place to hike along the river or really just a short walk.
