You really have to keep your head in the game and your eyes on the prize when you are going through this course. That being said if you pass this class you will be confident in the work you do as an EMT. Highly recommend for people who want quality education!

If your choosing between EMS schools, let this review be the tie breaker. The level of instruction we received from Tom far surpassed that of any college education I have ever received personally. Don’t get me wrong, the program is difficult, but any good EMS program should be challenging. My advice to future EMTS students: If you can do a little bit more than average person in your class and you truly want to learn EMS practices the right way, you will pass. Do what Tom says to do, simple as that. Watch EVERY video, READ your outlines, skim through every chapter, and for the love of everything holy and good, GO TO SI. Those who went to SI had an average of a 7-point lead than those who did not in my class. As I said skim through your chapters, but don’t go too heavy on the book. After all, story books don’t give you real scenarios and real patients, but EMTS sure does. “Treat the patient, not the number!”

This is the best training school you will find in my opinion. I went to EMTS with absolutely no prior emergency medicine training or education and gained an immense amount of knowledge and experience. More than I could have expected. I graduated EMTS prepared for a career as a first responder on a level that is heights above what other schools offer. Even if your goal lies in some other medical field, I would recommend this school, as they teach outstanding medicine that is applicable all around. I had a good amount of apprehension as the NREMT exam approached due to a fear of the unknown, but it was an absolute breeze given what I had been taught at EMTS. There was no difficulty at all. I was worried for nothing, because I had been prepared prior to taking it. This is not to say that you will not work. You WILL put in work or you will not graduate. Rightfully so. Identify your problem areas, work on them, and prioritize. Everything you need to succeed is given to you. The instructors are extremely approachable with any questions you may have (even Tom in his own way), the lectures are way above par, and the hands on training is excellent. In addition, take constructive criticism as just that - constructive. Use it to better your skills and knowledge as they are trying to teach you. Don’t be soft and you will emerge from this school a very well trained first responder. I cannot endorse this school enough. It was a difficult yet phenomenal experience.

EMTS is a great school. They provide you with all of the resources to succeed, but they don’t spoon feed it to you. If you put in the time and apply yourself, you will have all the tools to be a great EMT.

In 2018 our school was number 7 in volume for the state. Our goal is not to fail the student. Not all pass. We loose about 30% of students during the class. Mostly because of non class related issues - attendance, procrastination, etc... Our current NREMT exam pass rate is 98%. Hope this helps.
We will not do a 100% online class or a course less than 4 months. The retention is very poor for online classes as well as the so called "quick/crash" courses. Our typical course is 4 months and for the first two weeks will meet two evening a week. After that the course is one evening a week with on average 5 hours of homework. There are also two Saturday classes involved for hands on drills with ambulance driving.
