It's another wonderful and beautiful place to visit in the Sacramento area. This spot has a great Park right on the American River. To top it off there is a walk bridge going over the American river which is pretty spectacular.

First time floating down this river.. really enjoyed it. We hadn't quite thought it through so all we had was our cooler with beverages and our river run float. Note: you need paddles! We were able to buy one close though so it worked out. Also..there's a shuttle that will bring you back to the lot.

Plenty of wildlife to observe and trails to explore. I'd come back for a picnic for sure. This is salmon season right now so there's that. I liked the turkeys and woodpeckers especially. The natural sounds and air was very relaxing for me. 3.3 miles for the day and we'll worth it.

I love that river bend park opens at 7am. Nice early morning hike/walk. My mom and I saw turkeys, squirrels, geese, swan, big wing birds, deers, fishermen, campers, picnic tables, restrooms, American river and lots of metal trash bins and plenty of hiking trails. There is a self parking payment kiosk that takes credit/debit, lots of parking spaces.

I have seen scout groups camping in the summer as well. Contact Sacramento County Park Rangers for more info.
No there isn't.
Yes there is a parking fee but if you want to there is a church at the end of Rod Beaudry Rd you can park in for free and then walk in or bike in.
There are 3 fishing areas in the immediate area. Arden Bar Pond, within the William B. Pond Park area has Catfish (according to California Department of Fish and Wildlife). You can access Arden Bar Pond from River Bend Park by crossing the bridge (Harold Richey Memorial Bridge - Jedediah Smith Memorial Trail), but not by vehicle across the bridge.
Shad, steelhead legal to fish and catch. Some salmons as well as usual bass. Fishing is incredible tough at this spot over the last couple of years
There is no wi-fi there. Any signal that you get is comming from the neighborhood.
Yes! We were swimming around when there weren't really any people. We saw 2 crawfish near land!
The fish are probably pretty full (stomach)by the time they get to river bend park. I'd suggest up river of the boat launch
It will be about $5.00. That is the price I got from Sac County website just now.
We have been there every other afternoon and weekend. We are going this morning! Parking is open. We start from Nimbus at Hazel, and end at Watt access and River Bend when crosswinds are present.
There are restrooms no shower and rules are posted all around the park check at the toll at front entrance
No you can't park on the beach. There is a parking lot
I recommend that you call or email Sac County Parks Dept and inquire. Normally parking is paid on a per vehicle basis.
Any kind of government benefits also make you eligible for a discounted pass I paid $7 for the year for mine because I get food stamps
You can get an annual parking pass at the American River Foundation which is located to the right as you enter William B Pond park.
