Went on two of the tours which covered both sides of the main cavern areas. The tour guide was informative and pointed out the main features. We enjoyed the tours but felt that they could reduce the number of people on each tour. There were times when at the back we couldn't hear the tour guide or see what they were discussing. Highly recommend seeing this natural beauty!

We loved it! Our guide was amazing and explained everything about the cave! I totally recommend!! There is a small trail to hike and camping is available too. Be sure to stop at the store and grab a souvenir! The drive wasn't too bad, but the "shortcut" was a very windy road.

The caves were great and the cave guides were lovely! The extra activities on site were ok and somewhat over-priced. We did pay for a $20 wristband for all the extra activities which is better then paying for each activity alone. I feel all activities except the gemstone mining and putt-putt golf should be included in the cave tour prices. Overall a great experience for my family! Would have loved to stay at the camp but did not get the chance.

This was the first time for me to visit the cave with my family. The parking lot was full but I did find a spot within a couple of minutes. The process of buying the tickets was great, and I bought the two tours of the cave. The experience was great, the workers as well as the guides were all smiling and welcoming. Take in mind that the tours start every 30min and when you are done with the first one, you will probably have a 30min break before going to the second one. However, we have spent around 4-5 hours from arrival time until we left.

How much do you guys pay for going in the cave and going on boat ride's

There are no boat rides in this cave. In Indiana the two caves with boats are Indiana Caverns and Blue Springs Cavern. The charge is $18 for the 40 minute Crystal Palace Tour, $21 for the hour long Dripstone Trail tour, or $28 for both and you should allow 2-2.5 hours for the combo. You might be thinking that there are boats because we have a sister facility just down the road called Cave Country Canoes. That is canoeing and kayaking on the Blue River.

Nothing and no turning back either, you pretty much have to commit once you start.

Which cave tour is better for kids...Indiana caverns or Marengo cave?

Deborah Becker | Aug 6, 2018
Christi Hart | Aug 7, 2018

I would say Marengo Cave. Its easier to get into, and there is so much more for kids to see and experience. You can also choose from two different tours. The Crystal palace is a 1/3 mile, 40 minute tour, and the Dripstone is a mile 60 minute tour. Or if you tjink they can do both i highly recommend you do both. They are very different and both are spectacular!
