Absolutely gorgeous!! Parking was atrocious but so worth it.. we spent about 5 hours from start to finish and still felt rushed. Truly breathtaking π

Final one mile off road drive leads to the parking lot. Short trail leads to top of fall. However, you can rope climb down reach bottom lever if you have climbing harness and skill. A 10 minute walking of 1/4 mile trail #048 cross the top level of the fall leads to a 10 feet wood bridge over another small water fall. Passing the bridge about 50 yard, a not easy narrow gap steps in rocks down lead to lower level of the fall creek. Follow the rock path crossing the creek and a trail #049 along the cliff wall (top of cliff is trail#048 you just used) will lead you back to the main Jackson Fall bottom pond. A reward of beautiful screen of the fall over a green pond is waiting for you taking picture! On the way of the trail #049 , you will see many climber practice climbing on the cliff walls.

Great place for hiking and climbing! Huge mossy rocks! Beautiful water features!

Took a short walk to the head of Jackson Falls just to scope it out. What a excellent time to be there since we had it all to ourselves! It's a 1/4 mile hike to it and the overlook. You can hear the water fall (low flow while we were there) but it must be rather awesome after a good rain. Need to go back and find the trail to get in the canyon and really see the falls. Well worth the drive or hike to find it. Parking lot hold about 12 vehicles, there's a pit toilet, and info board with details on the area.

Shawnee National Forrest supervisor headquarters has them outside. Or there's a map at the trailhead that you can photo.
As we went threw there are different spots you can see that they have for fires and a clearing in a couple spots. When you get there there is a posted bill board should have some info or call at the ranger station to get info they work via phone only. The road is very bumpy and you will have to take your time do to road conditions. My van wasn't able to make it threw the whole road just up to parking spot and even then it was a slow crawl . have fun
Yep, plenty of camp grounds. :)
Do NOT recommendation trying to get a camper back there. Roads are not suitable and the parking area is small.
