This was one of the best experiences of my life. Tanya and her crew are so welcoming and informative. Getting to meet and spend time with her pack was absolutely incredible. Can't wait for a return trip

We had a great great time. The staff were fantastic! They are all knowledgeable, well trained and caring for these beautiful wolves! It was definitely a pleasure and we will return often. Support the care and feeding if you can. They do not receive any funding except through donations!

Awesome experience. Sarah was an amazing guide. Wolves are very interactive and gentle. Donate!!! They are expanding.

Tonya and all her people are so awesome. We had an amazing time. Wasn't expecting for them to let us in because we came with a small child and we didn't have an appointment. But Tonya came out and told them to let us in. Holan is so pretty and so sweet. We got to pet some of the wolves and learn their story about how they came to the sanctuary. They're doing great things and helping the wolves. The gift shop has really cute stuff. It was a great experience and I highly recommend visiting.

Yes, you can. I got some get pics with them. You can even donate food for them. Just make sure you read the restrictions on what kind of food. I know that they are looking to relocate possible soon, so don't wait to long to go and enjoy such majestic beauty.
Yeah, u can pet/touch one or two specific wolves during ur visit n take pictures w them. As for hugging them, I'm not sure about that. But you'll definitely get close to them at the sanctuary
They have two hybrid wolf-dogs and the rest are 100% wolves. Gorgeous animals that are well cared for.
The $150 tour is with the owner and you will have an interaction with 2 more wolves than you would have on the regular tour. On the $25 tour, you will have a minimum 2 wolf interactions. When I say that, they will be up close and personal, not behind the fence. You do meet all the wolves too.
Call Tonya and ask how you can help.
I believe they are, but call to confirm.
No height limit that I know of I saw kids about 7-8 years old. Just pay attention when you get close because it's a poorly maintained dirt road
The wolves know the difference between a child and an adult. You would be fine if you would like to visit us!!
Yes sir. Small children are viewed as prey by the wolves. The owner has let kids as young as 9/10 go in but she has to meet and approve of them first.
Both. You get to spend time with the wolves on the general tour
Call the sanctuary they work with many people who may know someone who would get the dog or who could
If you just show up, you will be turned away. It states on the website that it is my appointment only.
I don't believe so. I think it is family run.
No pets of any kind are aloud.
I don't know much of the private tour but the $25 donation gives the tour and you get to take pictures with and of the wolves. You can also interact with them for a little while. While I was on the donation tour, there was a private tour going on which looked pretty much the same as ours with the exception that they got to go into one of the cages and feed the wolves. It was pretty cool because the wolf was running around as apparently she liked the guy. Hope this helps
Please call 760-248-7818 to schedule your tour. You can view Visitor Information here: http://www.wolfmountainsanctuary.net/visit.html Thanks, WMS
Call and see what is available. I would call 2 weeks in advance of when you want to come to be sure to get your time. 760-248-7818
Should be. We just went recently.
All of our wolves stay with us forever. You can sponsor one of our wolves :).
Yes, they last one hour. You can find all the info about our tours here: http://www.wolfmountainsanctuary.net/visit.html Thanks! WMS
Children are required to be 5' tall to come to the sanctuary.
The $25 tour is a public group tour. The $150 tour is a private tour for your group only. There will be interactions with the wolves, including the option to pet them (if you want). There are some rules on picture taking, please see: http://www.wolfmountainsanctuary.net/visit.html
The $25 tour is a public your available to the general public. The $150 tour is a private tour, available only to you and your group.
Yes you can. Staff there will also take pictures of you petting/next to a wolf. It's a unique experience. Just make sure you don't take kids with you, don't wear hats and go on a nice cool day cuz the sanctuary is in a high desert/wilderness area.
25 per person regular. Or 125 per person for different hands on experience
I stayed in LA and it was a reasonably short drive
I'm not from the sanctuary but visited there few months ago. They said they are relocating to New Mexico.
We are looking at New Mexico. We still want to move but nothing is scheduled for anytime soon. Danna - Wolf Mountain Sanctuary
We have 5 full wolves and 3 wolf dogs.
We are NOT open when it is pouring rain, that is why we ask all visitors to call the morning of their tour.
Please call Tonya Tuesday - Sunday and she can give you some lodging ideas. Thanks, Danna Wolf Mountain Sanctuary
No Zeke. All of our animals need to be in a sanctuary. They cannot live in a normal home. You should look into saving a low content wolf dog or a northern breed dog. Thanks for your comment :) - Danna, Wolf Mountain Sanctuary
Sure, ill post next time im in the area.
Not sure, its really far from me but ill definitely be back in a few months.
I haven't heard of any incidents like that happening.
I dont think they provide transportation. It would have to be a cab or Uber
Yes, you must make reservations
Yes, you must make reservations
There is NO reason to have a wolf unless you are a sanctuary. Please go adopt a husky or a malamute, there are tons that need homes.... More and more counties and states are going after wolf dogs so please do not get one. ~ Danna, Wolf Mountain Sanctuary
Hi Wendy....I'm a wolf handler at Wolf Mountain and I just want to say that I am so sorry for your loss. I hope you choose to come visit us in his memory. We would be honored to receive a donation in his memory. Please call us and talk to Tonya.
As we visited different wolves there were opportunities to interact and take pictures. Generally the male wolves took more interest in the women and children. One man decided to get "too close" and the wolf took it as an alpha dog challenge so peed on his leg! Wolf: 1 Man: 0. :)
Yes indeed. Amazing for sure. How beautiful they all are.
I think it might be 12, you need to call them. They are very helpful and have had kid groups
They don't charge extra for photography unless it is being used for commercial purposes. In those cases, you should contact them for more information.
Every year on the day you got married would be your Anniversary date. (Like a Birthday) :)
Donations for tours are $25 or $150 per person, and all donations go towards upkeep of the sanctuary.
