Don't you love it when a company is so oblivious of their service that they ask for reviews after delivering literally the worst experience you've ever had? I spent (no kidding) 1.5 hours in line waiting to get to the service desk. Once I got to the desk, my credit card was declined (my fault) and they don't accept debit cards, so I had to call my credit card company to increase my credit limit. After I went through all that they told me that they didn't have any suburbans and asked if a minivan was OK!!!! The only reason I reserved at Midway (which I'd never heard of) is because Hertz (with whom my company has a contract) did not offer full-size suburbans. I was there for a multi-week business trip in the desert and needed high clearance and storage space. A minivan wouldn't cut it. I told them need to find a suburban. They did, finally, bring a suburban from a different location... it was on empty and dirty but I told them not to waste any more of my time cleaning it. All told, it was 2.5 hours before I drove away. I will avoid this company like the plague.

Do not , do not I repeat waste your time. They over book and don’t have enough cars … or “cars are not returned” people sitting outside with their baggage for hours some 3 hours others going on 2 like us with our 2 , 4 year old girls hungry and tired from a Early plane ride. Excited for Disney. But we have a big hiccup. And now we have to book somewhere else with a new hold :( Everyone has reservations confused why they are waiting for hours. They don’t care your situation, they are happy to cancel and leave you stranded. Go somewhere else.

The entire experience was just awful. Lax shuttle dropped us off in the middle of no where, we had to wait about 30 mins for a Midway shuttle. Once arrived at Midway there was a ridiculous line, agent constantly walked to the back and disappeared for minutes at a time. It took the agents about 5-7 mins to assist each customer which is VERY inefficient. Midway needs to keep record of personal Info for a seamless check out process. Will not recommend this company ever ever to anyone. Will never use this rental company again

Have been waiting for 90 minutes and still no car. Booked last night throughout Priceline. When we got here we were told there were no cars and we are on waitlist. I asked how long is the wait and response was it should be less than 45 minutes. However we have been waiting for 90 minutes and we have not been called yet. Came to LA for 2 days and didn’t expect to spend my afternoon at a car rental office so very frustrated and wishing I had gone with another car rental name. Never again I’ll book a car with Midway.

Call, but off hour dropoff will be explained at pickup as well. Easy at every car rental company
OPTION 1) You may find your own way using an Uber/Lyft/Taxi and we will reimburse the trip fare upon your arrival. OPTION 2) Upon arrival to LAX, please proceed outside to the Lower Level outer curb under the BLUE sign the reads “LAX SHUTTLE/AIRLINE CONNECTIONS”. Look for the BLUE shuttle “Economy Lot E” and inform the driver that you would like to go to the “Remote Rental Car Depot”.
There's a free shuttle to the Midway. 5mins from airport
Call ahead, they accept debit cards with some conditions
Glad to hear it. You should write them a review!
Same garage you retrieve it from. Once you park it, walk over to the office or booth at the front of the garage and they'll check it in
Hi Gene! Thank you for your interest in Midway Car Rental. Our shuttle runs 24 hours, however our location does close at 9PM. We open at 7AM, so you may pick up your rental at this time. We apologize ahead for any inconveniences this may cause you. Thank you!
No
YES, Midway does provide shuttle service to and from LAX. Once you have collected your luggage and exited the terminal building, stand under the RED "Hotel Shuttle" sign (each terminal has one) and look for the "Joe's Airport Parking" shuttle bus. It is Green & Orange small bus. Tell the bus driver you are picking up a rental vehicle from Midway and he will drop you off 20-30 feet from the Midway "M Car" rental office. Shuttle runs every 15 minutes. Otherwise, Midway is located at 6151 W. Century Blvd.
Mike is right but keep in mind you must have a major credit card for them to hold a deposit as well
They have a shuttle.
No
1) Yes. 2) No.
They are always super busy and understaffed
Yes only credit cards with Visa or Master card. No debit cards. You will need a 300.00 deposit plus the cost of the rental. So if your rental 200. You need to have 500plus on your card.
Not for a deposit. You need a major credit card. They will also charge at least $300 on top of your rental fee. So the card you use must have a high available balance. Also if your card declines, you can't use that same card for another 24hrs. They're a good company but strict rules. I wouldn't go looking for a place to accept debit and if you, MAKE SURE YOU READ THE REVIEWS.
Don't believe they do.
If they have a branch there, I'm sure but I'm sure it's extra as with any other rental place.
The quote you get is what you pay. There are options such as buying their insurance, but you are not obligated to purchase it. I've used them twice and was very happy with them each time. To get there, just take an Uber or a taxi, and when you show them the receipt, they will credit you the cost of the trip. We got there from LAX in no time.
I don't think you can but, I'm not 100 percent sure. I know their not like the bigger rental car companies that are 24 hours. They close at 10 or 11 pm I believe.
If there is a Midway at end point then yes, but remember it is like double the $$ for one-way rentals.
You get there and there is plenty of high line SUVs to chose from
ID and Credit Card has to match...thru out ur life.
Not worth it they will ask for a lot more deposit
Yes, you take the Joe's Airport Park Shuttle to the airport.
So....no question?
Rented the cheapest car, and got a toyota Corolla w 1k miles, still smell new inside. Anyway, when rent a car always change the dates to check the price. I used Experia, for 30 days is $28 e\day, but for 29 days is $21 big difference (by Midway car rental). And also, if you need insurance buy it on the website (expedia has bundle) NEVER on the counter when you check out THEY WILL RIP YOU OFF. And remember just buy CDW, and nothing else. But before that ask your credit card issuer if they offers rent car auto insurance. Visa Gold, for example offers this benefit (Collision Damage Waiver) at no cost. I had a collision in Dallas and didn't pay a penny, so yes, I can say w all confidence that it works.
I can't speak for what everyone's experience will be but my experience was I was charged a $200 deposit upon picking up the car and then when I return to the car the deposit was refunded and my card was charged for the amount initially quoted. I rented a Toyota Corolla and I saw Bentleys and Porsches in this place so the deposit might be larger on some types of cars. Also there could be additional charges for underage drivers drivers other than the name of the person renting the car etcetera. My experience with Midway car rental though was that everything was on the up-and-up and everything was as they said it would be.
Probably but I can't say for sure. I think they only held $200 deposit when I rented with them but it might have been 400 I just don't remember. I would recommend calling them directly and finding out how much the deposit is. I do remember that they didn't actually charge me for the car until I brought it back.
Take it back to midway and they have a shuttle to lax
I have only ever returned my car to the same place I got it with Midway but most rental companies do allow One Way Rentals. To find out for sure you have to contact Midway directly. I do know for sure that Alamo and National allow one Way Rentals.
No it's not true.
No, Midway is not located inside of LAX. Although they are very close thereto. And YES, Midway does provide shuttle service to and from LAX. Not likely, as Midway does not have any offices in or near Las Vegas. But you my want to contact Midway by phone to get a definitive answer.
