They are generally helpful and timely. They can be very slow with processing super important papers. CPS is great and I'm actually a little nervous about my case being closed. Ashanti has been our caseworker after a nasty DV situation and she has been a great resource.

The reason I went to DSS was I had an Appointment with the Veterans Service Officer. Ms. Graham is an Awesome VSO who will go out of her way to help Vets in anyway she can!

Housing specialist was not professional and her attitude was horrible. She did not show up for my first appointment. Instead, she left a stack of forms for me to fill out. After I left with the forms, she called and made an excuse that didn't make sense for not showing up and told me to just fill out my personal information on the forms. Also, she told me to come 3 days later with the forms but she did not give me a time to attend. When I showed up, she was already with another client and came to the lobby and fussed at me for not coming in earlier. Bad attitude. Gave her the forms and she made me feel stupid for not filling out on the right pages or whatsoever. Told me to come the next day without a given time. So, I did. Surprise, surprise, surprise! She wasn't there and the front desk said she'd be in an hour later. 3 strikes and I'm done! She called an hour later and made another ridiculous excuse. It is very disrespectful that I took my time off work and wasted my time and gas for nothing. She also does not return calls. I REFUSE and do NOT trust working with someone like that! I heard from a few people that it's constant. Something needs to change!

No, DSS is closed until at least Monday, September 24
If you already receive assistance, funds will automatically be added to your card. There will be no need to come down or call DSS.
No. DSS will reopen on Monday 9/24
Yes they should, but if they will give them to you is another story
It depends what you are trying to apply for. There is a website you can use for Medicaid, Electric, and Food & Nutrition Benefits. The website is good for any state/county in North Carolina. Go to: epass.nc.gov
Talk to someone you can trust if you have mentor contact them also you can contact social services and talk to them on your own if you don't feel safe
Call your caseworker they will set it up for you
I think so. You can go to the website and look.
It's not closed
Hi. I don't work here but did find this online. "To apply, contact or visit the management office of each apartment building that interests you. To apply for either type of help, visit your local Public Housing Agency (PHA). Some PHAs have long waiting lists, so you may want to apply at more than one PHA." Here is a link to the website: https://www.hud.gov/states/north_carolina/renting Hope this helps!
Yes, ma'am. 798-3400
Changes don't take place until the 1st day of the following month. If you reported the change in April, it won't take effect until 5/1 at the earliest

You have to go in person at the DSS office on s 16th st if you haven’t already.
The best thing to do is go to your counties web site for all the info you will need.
Im not sure but most likely you have to come in the agency
New Hanover it starts 9-28 to 10-6 at the old sears building at the mall. They are doing them on Sat to.
