Website says you can rent cars in the US and drive to Canada. But that is not true. Even called to local number to verify before trip and they said no problem. Had to rent a car fron another rental place at a significantly higher cost.

I had reserved a Toyota Corolla in Anchorage for 10 days and all they offered me was a sub compact Nissan Ventra, which was a joke. No amends for smaller car. Called Alamo after one day w this car wanting a different car or at least a reduction in price, to no avail. Horrible customer service. Never again!!!!!

My wife rented cars from this place for her first 3 months in Anchorage while on a travel contract without issues. When she went to try to get another car for her next month, they increased their rates by over $1200, wouldn't allow her to purchase a rental for a week (the increase in rates made it to where we had to wait until our bank opened to increase our debit card limit) and she ended up at the airport without a car and had to taxi back to her house and rely on a friend for a ride to work and back for a few days until we were able to get a rental from a local place called Midnight Sun Car Rentals for $1300 cheaper than what Alamo was charging and with a ton less headache. Our experience with Alamo and the airport car rental agencies ensured that we will never rent a car from an airport agency again. Shop local. You'll be glad you did.
