There’s a scam artist that works there. Heavy set male dark hair. We arrived at midnight after a full day of travel and he charged us for extra insurance and prepaid gas both of which we clearly declined. This amounted to 200$. You couldn’t see on the signature line what he was charging us for. Clearly a scam and robbery. Avoid thrifty. Thrifty should have standards and I’m surprised corporate allows this sort of thievery.

The person at the checkout was helpful and efficient. He gave clear instructions on the rental and where to find the car. The car was in good shape and both of the people I worked with picking up the car and dropping it back off were friendly and efficient. The cost was ridiculous and having the put down a $500 deposit was hard when the week's rental was already $2100. I get that it's Alaska, but wowsers!

Anchorage,Thank for all the help (forgot my insurance papers on the Friday night of a holiday weekend). Had to wait for our son to text it to us. Our car was get. Return was simple too. We had Toyota Highlander it fit us great even with all our luggage. Again Thank you!

The expense of renting a vehicle at the Anchorage airport is astounding, and outrageous. I have never seen such gouging and corporate greed. I rented a Toyota Highlander for eight days and paid a total of $2,779. The actual rental cost was $1,798 which is bad enough but when you add $320 for insurance (which I realize is somewhat optional), $360 in a plethora of fees, and taxes of $301, I had to question my sanity. There is no way to justify such a cost. Clearly, Thrifty is not thrifty at all, and the additional fees and taxes are a cash grab by the airport, and State of Alaska. For comparison purposes, leasing a Toyota Highlander costs approximately $450/month. That versus $2,779, for an eight day rental, should make Thrifty, and all other rental agencies charging similar prices, ashamed of themselves.

That’s the same they will charge at the end
they dont tell u anything. but wait to get insurance with them. they dont hold any cars so be prepared to switch the car make and model you wanted. and yes it's unlimited, but if you crash and its your fault they won't cover it.
We can't drop you off in Seward. You have to go on the Seward bus line transportation to Seward. We can drop u off there.
Deposits are refundable deposit on your card. Book via AAA for good deals. Thrifty was good, they gave us a good car!
