This site has ZERO respect for the corporate cooperation. Our company has cooperation with Avis where insurance and gas are included without additional charges. The front desk employee kept saying “we are localized service of Avis. Avis corporate is different than our system. We don’t know anything except that you booked a slot at this time.” and refused to put the benefits on the receipt. I never heard such claim when I rent Avis car in other sites including Wyoming and Las Vegas. And services on other Avis sites and also other car rental service are much better than the poker face I saw today at 5pm Aug 20.

one star- the rental counter made up a claim about an employee rate code from a company I don’t work for upon arrival. They then over DOUBLED our original quoted rate. This must happen a lot as they have signage up at the counter letting you know what is about to happen…. Was told there was nothing they could do. Would not recommend Avis Anchorage Intl. airport as they cannot be trusted to honor rates. Edit: Reached out to the manager (Bernard) and was told they couldn't do anything (see associated response from business)... I am asking that the original quotation for the rental be honored.

Make sure you don’t book from here. No customer services at all. I book from enterprise every time this time enterprise didn’t have any cars. I had to book from avis. I had all other things lined up and Avis rental car doesn’t care about their customers doesn’t help the customers at all. Their lack of knowledge should not be an excuse of wasting customers’ time and wasting everyone else’s time. Everything’s very hard here and they don’t care about their customers.

I rented from Avis Alaska 10/09/21 for about a week. The rental went fine. A month later I get a claim submitted against me for damage and recorded date of loss Nov 9th. Basically told by Avis to pay it or it goes to collections. I disputed the claim because it was absolutely ridiculous the documentation and evidence presented does not put me at fault. I dropped off the car. It was inspected by a professional Avis agent and cleared the inspection process with no damage and checked out fine. The car was then handed over to the detailer which headed to the detail shop. Upon operation of the detailer, suddenly there was damage to the windshield. Detailer brings it back to the Avis agent and Avis puts a damage claim on me. Now according to the documentation and proof presented, Your own Avis agent signed it off as in good standing, unless Avis isn’t trustworthy. The last known person to touch it after a satisfactory inspection, was the detailer. Did the detailer do a proper walk through before picking it up? I disputed the claim and was completely ignored only to get a secondary notice in the mail urging if I didn’t pay the damages it would go to collections and be out of their hands. I call to dispute only to be sent to voicemail which I figured would happen because they are too busy ripping people off. How many people are they doing this same thing to? The dollar amount is nothing compared to the customer lost and everyone I stop from going to Avis for the rest of my life.

I my experience with Avis of Alaska, they do. I would call to see what they have available.

In summer is 24/7 but by this time should be someone till 3:30am at the counter.
All the big rental companies do NOT take prepaid cards. Avis does NOT accept debit/check cards. Other rental companies do but with some rules, you need to call them at their local offices and find out their policies
