Red Roof Inn Columbus - Ohio State Fairgrounds

Check in was slow. Booked for 3 people in room. Only had 2 towels and only had half a roll of toilet paper and no backup. Light in the bathroom barely lights. No chair at the desk. $100 deposit at check in. Room was not horrible but hotel is old and area seems a little scetchy.

It was horrible. Holes in the walls filled in with toilet paper, sink was cracked and hole in, bathroom door did not close, room door did not close unless you pushed hard on it, had big gaps all the way around it so light came in, outlet air conditioner was plugged into was halfway hanging off the wall. Paint was pealing off the walls. Microwave and fridge had food in it and had not been cleaned at all. Place was filthy. Shower handle was broken so you had to play with it to get it to work. Had to go find someone so we could check out in the morning. Woman at desk was very rude. Was very mean to a child with autism. She asked if they were in our room or if we were related to them. This place needs to be shut down for Safety violations.

Room was very dirty, hand prints on the head board, stains on the bed spread, it was white and they were very noticeable because they were bigger stains. Burn marks all over the bath tub and sink area, even though it says non smocking, some sort of alarm or detector was going off in the hall way, ended up leaving the same night checked in because I did Not feel safe and it was just to dirty.

If you don't feel like sleeping- this is the place for you. I was very surprised that they made you pay a deposit- even if you were to use a credit card. The doors were slamming all night long, the heater went on for a minute then off for a minute, then back on for minute, etc. all night long. People were walking back and forth outside all night long too. There was a sign that said no visitors after 11pm- that should have given me a hint as to what type of hotel this was. We did see plenty of police / cars in the parking lot all night too. The sink was held up by 2 x 4's and unpainted. The tub still had hair in it from the previous guest. Upon checking out- I had to wait for the manager to check the room before I got my deposit back! I will NEVER stay in a Red Roof Inn again, especially in Columbus, OH.
