Terrible terrible place!!! You would think that the people who are here are there for the animals. I highly doubt that! Lady who works there is a rude bitter women who clearly hates her job. My sister found an animal and tried to turn it in and the lady told her why would you get an animal off the streets if you weren't intending to keep it? Like wth. My sister was so mad because she didn't want the dog to be eaten by a coyote or hurt on the streets and this lady had the audacity. Like this is why people don't save animals on the streets because there's rude ppl like her who make no sense. She shouldn't be working there if her job isn't for the love of animals.

I rescued my little girls here. The wait might be a while, but the workers and volunteers are great. Please adopt! Rescued animals are the best!! If I could afford and adopt all of them, I would!!

CONS -You need to make an online appointment in order to see your potential new pet. -Several families get the same time frame. -No social distancing. -No first come first serve. Most likely line cutters will be the first to get in. PROS -You get to interact with potential new pet. -If you find and like a ready to adopt pet you can take him/her the very same day. -The staff is sooo nice. So after one of my beloved 🐕 went to heaven I promised myself I would never get another furry family member, but my whole family decided it would be good to give a chance to another 🐕. We tried to adopt through SEAACA and Downey animal shelter with no avail. I saw those german shepard and pit bull mix puppies online but I wasn't interested in any of them but my daughter asked me to interact with one of them and I must say it was "Love at first hug" because as soon as she was place in my hands we both hugged each other and even my daughter was surprised how she attached to me. So I originally went to ask for information about other 🐕 and I ended up taking a little one who stole my ❤ I strongly recommend adopting from shelters instead of buying from heartless people that don't even care about pets.

Would love to adopt Jordy the 2 month german shephard....can not find out if he is still there or he has found a forever home...i live in Sc and I would pay to have him shipped here if I could find out if he is still available..I would love to have him
Oh ya! My beast dog picked up the street 5 years ago!!!😊😊😊
Unfortunately, No ... They have to be 16 before they can volunteer
In so glad he found a home!! Happy life little one
I am not sure if she has been adopted to tell you the truth but I strongly suggest that you call them at the phone number listed here, visit their website to see if they stil have a picture of her or better yet, go directly to this facility at 12:00 p.m. today and ask someone at the front counter. If possible, go to the kennel area and look for her. If and when you find her write down the animl ID number, take a photo of her if you can and bring it to the front counter. Fill out the application, pay the adoption fee which is about $122.00 and they should tell you when she will be ready to go home with you Good luck to you!
When I volunteered there you needed to be an adult to register and it’s a thorough process including background check and classes before you can volunteer. They are terrific people!
Usually you can take it to any vet and just ask them if they'll check for microchip and most of them I have found will do it willingly but I believe most of the shelters have one also but I have found that some dogs have chipped but the owners just don't bother to register it or let the registration run out
Google the number and see, I'm sure it will give you prompts
I am pretty sure they do because as a general rule, these institutions have dogs of all breeds, sizes and personalities. Go to the kennel area as soon as possible and when you find the dog you are interested in write down the animal ID number , take a picture of him if possible and take this information to the front counter. Pay the adoption fee, fill out the paperwork and when he is sterilized, microchipped, licensed, and vaccinated they will let him go home with you. Good luck!
Go take a tour of the kennel area and when you find the dog or dogs you are interested in adopting write down the animal identification number or numbers and take pictures of them if possible. Take this information to the front counter, pay the adoption fee which is $122.00 each, fill out the paperwork and when they are sterilized, vaccinated, microchipped and licensed they can go home with you. I hope you find the dogs of your dreams very soon. Good luck!
As a general rule, dog adoptions cost around $122.00 but in reality, you don't pay for the dog himself only for the adoption process services which include: sterilization, licensing, vaccination, microchipping and a voucher for you to take him to the doctor of your choice within 3 days after leaving the shelter. If the exam's results reveal that he is sick with the flu for example you have to pay for his treatment separately. Good luck!
a
Please try to find a cat rescue organization online ... before taking to this, or any LA county or city shelter.
Technically you don't pay for the kitten himself, but you just pay for the services. These include vaccinations, sterilization, and microchipping. As far as I know you have to pay separately if the cat has another illness. I recommend that you go to the shelter in person or go to their website to get more information.
I need some blankets if you have some I will take it
Hello Ashlee that's great and wonderful that you would like to help out with the animals I'm sure you could volunteer but I know you'd like to get paid you'd have to contact the Carson shelter to find out what you want to know and at a time like this with the pandemic I hope everything works out good luck
Sometimes but you have to visit the shelter to see if any puppies are available.
Yes, there is low income program or free for those with Medical, ebt card etc.
I got my 9 month old pup from there.
animalcare.lacounty.gov
I really don't know why the only thing I went there was for a license for my pet.
OF COURSE ANIMALS LOVE CO.
Yes they do. Depending on the amount of days your dog os there and plus whatever else he or she needs
I have ALWAYS gotten my dogs from shelters and also on the streets. I am looking for these 2 now because mine passed away and I want the same.....for now
You can adopt dogs that have been spayed or neutered. There is also a waiting period of a few days and the dog must pass a behavior exam. Also, some breeds require previous owner experience
I'm not sure of the cost but do not think it it too expensive maybe you just have to pay for the shot records
Its very hard if you dont have the I.D. #..then you could just call them!..you can try without it but its very hard without that #.
Yes u need to call or go down to the shelter as soon as possible the animal go pretty fast there they can hold it for you if it is a reasonable time to pick up the animal but you have to be quick
I'm sorry , I have no ID#, I just got video from Top Buzz from March 4th and said he'd be euthanized if not adopted and I want to help . I'm I Arizona but will travel
I think so but to make sure call them at the number listed here or better yet, go to this facility in person and speak to someone at the front counter. Good luck!
I would say anywhere theres a surface sufficient to write upon, but do bring your own pen, you never know when a 501a or a 501b innocently but inadvertantly takes the pen from their counter, and walks off pushing lefts. Hows that for an "ioughta" of sense Miriam?!?
Yes they do let them out!..they have a playyard & as long as they get along with other dogs they get to romp & play with the great volunteers they have at Carson..
I am not sure but I suggest that you call the shelter at the phone number listed here or go over there in person to speak to an animal care technician at the front counter. You can also visit their website for more information. Good luck!
2/10 - 2/14 they are $14. You still have to pay spay/neuter, if applicable and license fees, but generally they are anywhere from $50-$145 depending on the dog.
There are many options and outlets to transport all the way from organizations like 'Pilots and Paws' to Truckers to private vehicle transport to Domestic Airlines ... Adoption: drive or fly down to pick up the dog ... Or call a local rescue in your area to assist you ... They'll then contact a rescue down here and make arrangements for rescue and transport.
I am not sure but if you stil have the animal identification number you can either visit their website to see if his picture is stil there and if he is available for adoption or you can go directly to this facility and speak to someone at the front counter. Good luck getting some answers.
Irecently took a dog i could no longer care for a pitbull german shepard 8month female she is what they call brenore her name is Lady Lady is a sweetie very smart mix breed pit and german shepard.,
The shelter is supposed to take pics of all incoming animals and post them right away but there are rare occasions where that doesn't happen. You can see the animals in the website on the left hand side where it says "View Our Animals" ...However, your best bet is to go to the shelter and look ... make sure you also look at the animals in medical and the other animals that are not viewable to the public.
You need to call
Well, I am not really sure if they have this puppy but I suggest that you go directly to the shelter and speak to someone at the front counter, or take a tour of the kennel area to see if you can stil find him. If for some reason you cannot find him maybe you can adopt someone else. Just make sure you write down the animal identification number, take a picture of him if possible and give them to an animal care technician. Fill out the adoption papers, pay the adoption fee and you are ready to go if he is already sterilized, vaccinated, microchipped, and licensed. But you will stil need to take him for a check up within 3 days after coming out of the shelter, if he is sick you have to pay for his treatment separately.
Shelters are overcrowded right now. Owner surrendered dogs may be killed faster for space. There is a fee that is collected. Please go online to find a Yorkie Rescue.
You need to call them or look on the Carson Animal shelter website
Oh hell no they are part of my family there is no reason they can't tell me where my rv is at so I can get them
Yes. I adopted a dog a few weeks ago. Due to the dog being afraid and timid. I had to return her. Even when I tried showing the dog as much attention as possible. Didn't want the dog to deal with that.
No they didn't
No walk ins....and for questions you must wait outside in a line....to be directed to their website.
I do not know, we adopted 3 hamsters and paid $30 for them. They also gave us 3 vouchers for physicals with any vet on the list they also gave us. They are really nice and helpful. Prices to me are reasonable. Give them a call and they will answer all your questions.
Look for an email address for that Center. Tell them the number of the animal you are interested in. They will get back to. Good luck.
It's all going to be online. You have to make an appointment first to actually be allowed to go an see a dog. You can only have 1 dog as a CTA (Commit to Adopt) and 2 dogs as an IP (Interested Party). Each dog can only have one person claim them as CTA and 4 as IPs. If the CTA doesn't adopt, then the first IP is offered to adopt the dog and so on (first come first serve). The call center is 24/7 so you may call to ask for a dog's availability at any time and will have better luck requesting to be a CTA or an IP for a dog if that dog has just been admitted into the county's system the same day you are searching for dogs. So pretty much dogs that have been admitted either that day or maybe the day prior are likely to have open slots. Most other dogs are fully booked if they have been there for a few days. Good luck!
There is a Cane Corso named Currency that needs a home at this facility.
I don't believe they save cremated ashes. But you can ask.
No
Not me
I don't understand your question. You just got a dog, but he's going to be euthanized. You want to foster him? You would need to contact the shelter. I do not work for the shelter.
Puppies are available for adoption if someone has dropped them off. The breed is dependent on that. Don't expect to adopt a purebred puppy.
Angela, the people who are at the shelter don't respond to these messages. Please call them if you have the animal's intake number. It should start with an "A". (I'm just someone who saw your question and have nothing to do with the shelter. )
You can look on petfinder the website or the Carson animal shelter website
No
No, they are closed. But they are open 24/7 for receiving animals.
If it has a chip, and they turn it in to the shelter, it can easily be identified
They are volunteers.ve to your website.
Call the shelter
We got our miniature poodle Boomer there about a month-and-a-half ago and he came with all his shots brand new he was neutered and had a chip implanted and I think it cost us less than $100
Don't work there just dropped off a kitten
I'm not sure of the above question but I believe when you call the shelter, they should be able to offer some suggestions and information.
You would have to call them.dont work their
Yes
This is a high kill animal shelter. They dont get adopted only god knows what happens. You can take them their but let's pray they get adopted. Dont get me wrong Carson animal shelter is great but I am the type of person that believes in no kill shelters. Just post a ad on social media. Somebody's gonna want kitties ! Especially free ! I'm pretty shure they charge to drop off the kitten their also lol.
What does your mommy say?
It's probably around a 100 you would have to call but I would wait to have any animal fixed until they're at least 6 months old so that all their parts have a chance to fully mature and grow to a proper size otherwise you can run into a whole other host of problems like UI 's or just urinary tract blockages. I know this from prior experiences.
No they do not but their is a pet crematorium down the street
I have no idea sorry
All I know is that the puppy's and dogs need a home & Carson shelter is not the place for them to be. If you WANT a great dog or cat go get one they just need LOVE !!😎
I am sorry I don't know
Yes. When they adopt in animal. But if you need banjo cost veterinary services, for a pet that is adopted, look at Google for Low Cost Vet Care Near Me.
It's best to call or check their website.
No
You have to check in person. Sometimes they do have German shepherds
I guess it would have to be online and then sent to you buy air. I'm just guessing you might wanna research that. Sorry
ALWAYS good to BRING your PET
Call the shelter they are open on Sunday
The shelter will help you they are kind people
Nothing just show you will able to provide for the dog or cat and adoption fee
They adopt out 80-90% of dogs. If you would like to help out with the feral cat population you can volunteer with 'TNR' groups or foster kittens with them. This is an open intake shelter which means whatever comes into their jurisdiction must be taken in. Those rescue groups that can claim to be 'no kill' can choose which animals they take in, and will often times get the most adoptable animals from shelters like this.
Contact spay4la.com and they do it for free depending on where you live and low cost for every one else
Senior is 60 years and older
Check the website or go to the shelter to see if your dawg is there
You have to adopt in person or find a local rescue that would be willing to pull and transport the animal for you. You can contact carsonfosters.com to see if they can help. Good luck!! ❤️🙏
yes they do
Its gonna cost 50 to drop off your cat
I go put the word out and i let you know sun i have someone
Call the shelter during business hours and they will be able to tell you
Yeah you would call the shelter. I have access to the computer like that.
You need to call the shelter in the morning
They might have him.. They have a lot of dogs there..
I don't know.. If they got adopted..
You should call the shelter directly.
Your identification. Well little money for paperwork. Oh, sometimes you have to pay to have their eggs removed so that they do not have babies
Don't know who AJ is
Look for the kitten you want. Take a few pictures as you venture through the cages. Bring your options to the reception at the front of the animal shelter. The reception will guide you with the rest.
They were running a FREE adoption program for cats, I think they still are. I got my kitten for free there, shots, chipped and fixed... all for free
There is a fee, I dont remember how much but it includes their vaccines, license and spay or neutering.
I seen a few 1 year olds
Yes you can I believe the maximum is 3 dogs per household and I believe it's the same for cats
They have a caged in section where they can meet. Make sure you bring in your dogs shot records, they may want to see them first.
You can only put a hold in person. They will not ship the dog. What you need to is try to find a transport. The best way is to call a rescue either local to you or in California and ask them to go get the dog. They will help you
You would have to call the animal shelter for that information if you need a dog cremated I suggest the Sea Breeze Cemetery in Huntington Beach
You wait a while. Its first come first serve. Once you get into the doctors office you speak to a vet. So just like any normal place. Why dont yoj surrender your dog to the pound they have a vet evaluate them and then give them a shot if they dog is terminal. Plus its only 10 dollars compared to what the vet might charge, in the hundreds
Yes.
Check online. You might need a work permit
You need to call the shelter directly, you are posting question to the google forum, sorry.
Call the shelter and find out. They'll know his name, if not loom on their site and get the dogs #. If you're actually serious drive there
Call Carson animal shelter and ask them. Ask them exactly how you asked right now. Good luck
You would have to find somebody that's willing to go pick up the dog and pay adoption fees and then drive it over to riverside.
Please call Animal Control. You can remain anonymous.
Try a boarding place or contact a rescue sometimes they can help out
Yes call Carson animal shelter.
No appts necessary & their very kind & well organized
Take him back to the shelter
I'll take him/her. Is he)she house broken? Message me.
to adopt cat you have to carry an ID and look for the kitten you like and if you do not like kittens there you can see other places 🐱🐱🐱🐱
No, adoptions cost around $122.00 for dogs, $76.00 for cats $60.00 for rabbits, and probably around $20.00 for birds and hamsters. But in reality, you don't pay for the animal himself you just pay for the services that are needed for the adoption process which include: sterilization, vaccination, licensing, microchipping and a voucher for your pet to see a doctor within 3 days after leaving the shelter. If the exam's results reveal that he is sick you have to pay for his treatment separately. I sincerely hope that you can find the companion of your dreams and give him a forever and loving family very soon. Good luck!
I answered this earlier so I'll just do a copy and a paste ...
Your question doesn't make an iota of sense but I strongly suggest that you go to this facility and speak to someone at the front counter, call them or visit their website for more information. Good luck!
Your question doesn't make an iota of sense but I strongly suggest that you call them at the number listed here, go to this facility in person and speak to someone at the front counter or visit their website for more information. Good luck!
The microchip doesn't have GPS yet. However, like Miriam Leon said to you ... go to the shelter and you go look to see if your cat is there. This is a kill facility so don't waste time.
I have been there and. People just walked in Google phone number and ask them. REALLY GOOD NICE PEOPLE WORK THERE IVE ADDOPED KITTENS TO THEM 💙💜💚💚 THEY sometimes give free shots .🐆🐅🐯🦁🐈🐱🦊🐒🐒🦍🐶🐶🐕🐩🐺🐃🐂🐂🐮🦌🦌🦄🦄🐎
yes, there's a fee. Carson animal shelter is a kill shelter. You might want to take your animal to a No-kill facility, like, spcaLA in Hawthorne.
Call them, give them the animal ID number associated with that dog; they'll tell you if the dog has been adopted.
First, give the new owner a bill of sale bc dogs are considered property ... If they're microchipped, you'll need to re-register them ... The new owner will need to license them
U just have to keep looking
Yes, however, Carson is overpopulated and it's a high kill shelter. Is there another shelter in your area that's possibly a no kill shelter like SPCA South Bay or Pet Harbor which are both no-kill.
Not sure, of how many animals have to be put down. This is a very crowded shelter. They do what they can with the available funding. I support them by adopting my pets there.
