Really good apartment to live in they allow dogs and everything but you do not really take care of people in apartments I have a broken washing machine in my apartment

My husband and I lived at Metro Village from its opening in 2016 until September 2020. While the apartment was generally nice (in-unit washer/dryer and balcony) and was in a fantastic location, there were some issues with pests and neighbors, and LOTS of issues with management. I'm not sure if it was the cause or a symptom of problems (or both), but we had 4 different property managers over the course of 4 years living there. I won't go into details of all management-related issues we experienced, but the latest--and ongoing!--problem is that we still haven't had our deposit returned to us. It's the end of February 2021, and we moved out at the beginning of September 2020 (nearly 6 months ago). Shortly after moving out, we contacted the property manager via phone and email but never could reach him and never received a reply. We then spoke with a management office employee who said that there were no fees assessed after we moved out so we were set to receive our deposit. Well, DC's legally-mandated 45-day window for deposit refunds has long since passed, and we never received anything. We called the Metro Village management office on 1/21/21 and the employee said she'd get back to us by the end of the day on 1/22/21. We never heard back. We called again on 2/5/21 and sent an email to the property manager and still haven't heard back. As a last resort, we're going to try speaking with the management company directly, and if that doesn't work, we're going to have to go to small claims court. The point of this long review is that my husband and I don't trust Metro Village management to fulfill their most basic duties, and therefore we warn potential residents to stay away.
