We loved this hike! Girls are 10 & 11 we did about 4.5 miles over all. Climbing and exploring. Beautiful landscape and views. Really mucky but we knew it would be with melting snow. We will be back in the summer to explore more!

I thought I'd try a trail run this morning on the 4 mile East trail. I quickly realized that parts of the trail were challenging to find. I was grateful for the piles of rocks/stacked rocks marking the trail. Needles to say it's not a great trail running 'trail' in several spots, but it was a great trail! I'll be back when I have more time to wander in there. I'd definitely recommend it as a hike. I'm adding a few pictures that look like landscape when they are actually part of the trail (they're obviously not the ones with a paved sidewalk or view of the canyon). I also added a quick video from under the bridge, I thought it was cool how they made space to go under the highway. The stacked rocks were my guide! I got a little lost in one area and noticed when I backtracked that the stacked rocks were toppled over, so I really did depend on them. If you hike this trail, watch for the trail markers and give yourself plenty of time, and most of all enjoy the journey!

Great low-key hiking spot with some sweet canyon views. Very dog friendly. Kids would do great on most spots, but I personally wouldn't take small kids up the ridge unless they're great listeners.

Great walks/hikes fairly close to Denver, there are many trails that range from 0.06 miles all the way to 5.8 miles. I did the 5.8 mile loop where it takes you around the whole park. Takes about 3 hours and is only 600 feet of elevation. Would recommend this loop as you can see the whole park and get to go from the bottom of the canyons to the top of the cliffs. Just be ware that they close the gates promptly at sunset so make sure you are out before then. It’s $10 for a daily park pass and the pass works that day until the next day at noon.

There's definitely a well marked trail and I would say it's do-able for younger kids. Not much scrambling or anything else difficult.
Yes it is but they have a lot of Rattle snakes, we saw one yesterday next to the path, definitely would keep them on a leash
Ask them if they have a designated location for remote aircraft like Cherry Creek State Park.
Not if you plan to jump successfully.
I would think if you're not in the way of others and not destroying the wildlife then there shouldn't be any issues but definitely call the office they have and ask
Hours are posted for summer and winter, which is generally at sundown. Unless they have a special event.
No caves found, but still very nice place.
No
No, you do not need a fishing or hunting license. You will have to pay for a day pass to get into the park.
Yes but if you're planning to hike the trail by the creek I really recommend the "ice cleats" attachments for your shoes. It's slippery. We had to go down on our butts a few times.
Colorado Day, August 1st, has free admission to all state parks. Sometimes the free days moves based on closets weelend.
Castlewood cayon fee was 7$ last time I went the federal park pass will not work
In some areas, yes, and you can see some nice views. It's a long rocky trail into & through the Canyon, though. Definitely not wheelchair accessible everywhere.
October 12 th and 13th 6:30pm to 9:00 pm
Yes there are tons of bbq pits. As long as u pay the small fee u are good to go!!
No camping and not sure why anyone would want to stay overnight. Great rock climbing from easy to very difficult. Nothing tall (90') at best. But, many routes can fun and/or short and vicious! Love it!
Yes - I think it's $7 for the daily fee, unless you have the state parks pass.
Have to be leashed
No
I don't know. I was just there for hiking for the day.
