Are there any caves you can actually go in? If so which trail is used?

Did not see any caves, and didn't notice any marked on the park map.

I don't know of any caves. There's a ruin of an old damn, a beautiful steam and lots of sheer rock formations.

They are not actually caves. They're are boulder teepees and there at least two large under cuts to the canyon conglomerate walls I am aware of from explorations in 2003. Cave/undercuts are actually awesome on a hot day. One is near the bridge at the creek, but they have blocked the entire section off from foot traffic. And the other is on the other side of the road on the west rim near the dam ruins. But there are rumored that all along the west rim are undercut erosion sites some big some small and most on private land. Soon fences will be coming to prevent people from traveling off the trail. That will truely ruin the park.

Lots of caves can be found throughout Castlewood. You just have to keep an eye out. You can aslo go to their site to find them on the map. If you go to the west side main parking lot not the homestead there is a cave on the other side where there are no signs there is a cave over that way somewhere. If you have trouble finding caves you can always ask someone when you go they can tell you where they are hidden.
