I love being able to dress up and live in the tents for the week. Always the highlight of my summer ☺️

We missed the Festival (which was probably good - more than 10k ppl were here just before we got here) and the campsite was completely empty! We've had a great stay in absolute peace and quiet sauf the mowers and golf carts zipping employees around. Zack, the naturalist intern, gave us a great tour of the Fort, giving some color and insights to the place and answered all our questions. Sally, who checked us in, was super helpful and friendly. The showers and bathrooms are clean (even though the place had been mobbed just the day before) and the campgrounds very spacious (we were in site 2E), the fire ring clean and the general area free of trash. If only the rest of the campgrounds will be like this, our vacation will be the greatest ever!

Very good 3 day historical celebration. Neither SD Game, Fish and Parks or the State Dept. of Toirism advertise this attraction to any consequence. The locals feel that this because it is not in the Black Hills or Sioux Falls. It definitely makes people think about coming again. From many demonstrations , firearms, and canons, to rendezvous activity, fiddlers, a great melodrama playing 3x per day, and much more, it's a lot of fun. Too bad the brass ignore it.

Fort Sisseton provided a fabulous venue for our family wedding. We were able to spend the entire weekend there with family and friends. The staff and facilities are top notch
