There are better Falls in Georgia. But this one has a nice splash area. It's 1.3 mile hike to the Falls. Steep (for me) near the top of the trail and the lower falls.

This place was like entering a magical land straight out of a fairytale. The land is absolutely beautiful and the waterfall is breathtaking. It’s an old Indian trail and you can feel the spirits of them in the forest. A must visit spot to see once in your life!!

This is one heck of a pretty waterfall . The route to reach here is ‘just about right’ amount of hike in terms of length and elevation . One got to drive on an off road route from the main road to reach the start point of the hike. All the signages are well placed and it is a straight route anyways . The upper side of the waterfall has a swimming hole , where we didn’t stop long. It comes first during the hiking .The lower base is about five minutes walk from there . The pictures are from lower base where there is a viewing platform .

Absolutely gorgeous hike, well worth the visit. There is a stream you have to drive across to get to the trail head parking, so if you have a smaller car and the water happens to be high, you might not be able to cross. It was about 2-4 feet of water when I was there, so you'll have to make the call yourself. The trail is very obvious all the way, there are also a few open areas along the trail by the stream that people use tents to camp (Please be mindful of contributing trash and litter, we picked up a few bottles and there are no trash cans to throw stuff away). The whole hike is downhill (which means it's all uphill going back!), and if it is a wet day there can be a lot of slick mud. The trail is obviously maintained well though by the park rangers, there are a few small bridges to cross in a few places, and they have built a small deck/viewing platform to see the biggest falls on the hike. Its a good mix of well maintained, but not ultra touristy. It has a few decks and bridges, but it's still an intermediate hike for a relative beginner ( much easier than say, Blood Mountain nearby). There's lots of roots and steep portions, so definitely not a biking trail unless you're really good at it I suppose. I'd also recommend anyone going be able to manage walking an occasionally difficult piece of wet or steep terrain. Very glad we made the hike, just sat near the bottom with our feet in the water listening to the falls and the forest. There also weren't very many other people on the trail either, so it was a nice walk with just us and nature!

Feels great after the hike.
No. Just a trail down to the falls, then back up again.
It was when we went about a month ago. We crossed on logs. (I used my hiking poles to help with balance.)
I live below the falls and walk my dog to the falls all the time on and off the leash. I've done extensive training with my 3 year old Golden Retriever and he sometimes gets away from me, but he's extremely friendly. If you plan on bringing your dog, you should ask yourself how much control do you really have over your dog or anytime else's for that matter. Bring a leash to keep control over your dog for when people are around. Let them off when nobody is around. If your dog is unfriendly or a nuisance have an alternate plan. Make sure to pick up animal waste. Pack in and pack out your trash. Leave no trace.
Can't really "swim", but for a shorter hike to nice falls, I would suggest Minnehaha falls or maybe sea creek falls. Sea creek falls was less crowded and you can fully "dip". Also, for a good description of various falls, go here. https://www.atlantatrails.com/hiking-trails/high-shoals-falls-trail-blue-hole-falls/
It is a pretty easy hike. It is a trail or path and not a sidewalk. There will be muddy areas, roots changes in elevation, etc
You can get down to the water at both platforms. There's also streams along the way you can get into.
