What a spectacular view! Must see if you live in Georgia. The .6 of a mile hike to the top of the observatory is steep however. Be warned, it is uphill the whole time ! ( but worth it !) You can also ride the shuttle up if you want. 10/10 would recommend

Very pretty area. Tough 6/10 of a mile hike to summit if you don't want to pay for shuttle! Once at top, beautiful vistas. A video of the area and a little museum. There was a slight haze so we couldn't see Atlanta skyline, as advertised! And, of course, the required gift shop as you leave!!

Lovely view. Saw beautiful fall colors 😍. It has a museum. It was good. You can use the trail while going up to the tower or you may use the shuttle. $5 per person

Yes, you can go up to the center, but the building itself is closed for the season.
I have seen it posted that the observation deck and the park itself is open 24/7 but the facilities like restrooms and museums are not. I have been there many times and my impression is you can go to the top yourself anytime you want. Only one time there was too much ice on the steep road to the parking lot and they closed the road to everyone.
Yes. Just went yesterday and park employee told us alot of people come after midnight to stargaze.
No it's a state park , if you want to ride pay 5 per person and wait on van ,which they get when you drive in so walk -ride you still pay
