A 22 mile hike to San Gorgonio peak and back through great and changing landscape. Recent fire damaged areas, still live forests, running streams, blooming flowers, grassy meadows and past a number of peaks wanting to be bagged. A balloon route is the best for this hike. A trailhead head is available, not the best but available. Enjoy , you'll love it if you like hiking

This is a starting point for San Gorgonio mountain climb. Looking at 9.6 mile one way with 4.7K of elevation gain. If doing a summer hike- start early, before sunrise. Beat way to base your camping before and after the hike is San Gorgonio or Burton Flats Campgrounds, very close.

There is still some patchy snow remaining on the trail, but they are not a problem for hiking the trails.

Took the trail on the weekend towards dry lake. Go early in the morning as there will be a lot of parking available and not too many people. In the afternoon the parking lot is packed and the trail gets a bit crowded in some areas. There's a lot of friendly people on the trail but there are some folks that just take up all the space on the trail without moving so it makes it difficult to social distance.

The original trailhead was washed out. The crews rerouted the trail and is very noticeable as this is popular trail. No problems at all.
