One of our favorite spots. First come instead of dealing with that stupid government website that never seems to play fair.

One of the better camp grounds in the area. 6 total (3 buildings) bathrooms on the grounds. Small creeks running through. Plenty for the kids to do as far as staying occupied. Beautiful scenery. Most parking spots are smaller, only a couple can fit trailers. Fire rings, tent pads, lots of shade & picnic tables.

It was clean, the campsites were pretty spacious, very little amount of bugs. It was a bit weird the only animals I saw were bugs and birds, not even squirrels. A good amount of plant life around but not that diverse. There are firepits which is a nice thing to have and there are currently no restrictions on using it you just need a fire permit.

Would arriving at 3pm be too late to get a spot? Does anyone know if only half the sites are open? I am taking a 3 month old and 2 yearold, I'd hate for it to be full when we got there.

On a non holiday weekend , you should be able to get a spot... if you get there Friday..

I know they don’t take reservations but has anyone ever show up and there were no spots available?

Candace | Sep 1, 2018
Demetrius Hernandez | Sep 1, 2018

I think the only time something like that would happen is if you arrive during a holiday or the weekend of a holiday, usually there isn't a problem obtaining a camping site
