I just picked my 12-year-old daughter up from camp and she told me that the camp is very disorganized. The children have to wait every day while the counselors are in meetings with no activities planned while they wait .They also did not keep a track of who’s doing what activity so sometimes the kids did same activity twice in the same day. In addition every night they have time around a fire pit where there is no campfire! Has there ever been a camp with no fire pit? One of the most memorable times for all children at camp is time around the fire singing songs roasting marshmallows etc. They had none of that. She said that many of the counselors seemed dissatisfied with their jobs and with the management and one counselor even quit halfway through the week. My biggest complaint as a parent is that they did not organize the children by age group. My daughter was in a cabin with the six-and seven olds and she is 12 years old. She said most of them cried and fought each night and would not sleep. The counselors were unable to control the little kids. No older child wants to be in the room with little kids. The food is vegetarian and I thought she would have complaints about that but she did not. She said overall the food was not bad.The rules are extremely strict and the children are not even allowed to get a cup of water in the cafeteria by themselves. I understand that for the very young children, but for the 12-year-olds that is unreasonable. She also said that the woman that does the horse training was always yelling at the children which I find also unacceptable. This is my daughters first experience going to camp and she said she does not want to go back. The only saving grace for the camp that prevented me marking it as a one is that my daughter loved her counselors Selena, Becky and Dian. She said they were great and tried to make the camp as fun as they could. We chose this camp because it was recommended by friends and because the flyer made it look amazing. I believe that in years past it was an amazing place to be however they were very few campers present and it was not as expected.

This place has been a blessing not only to my family, but to other families as well through the years. We come here every year, it started with my older daughters when they were 5 & 6 years old until now they are 14 & 16 years old currently. The counselors do look young (this is a compliment) but they are more than qualified to do their job. I know that the camp would never hire minors who are permitted to legally work. I know because my older daughter worked here. I've seen most of these counselors go from being campers to counselors and they have a great program that trains them during the summer. It's my hope and prayer that each one of my kids gets an opportunity to work here. As for the nurses they are more than compassionate towards these children and well qualified. Most of them have been volunteering for the past years and it says a lot that they would give their time here and not get paid but do it from the goodness of their heart. My children are in Pathfinders and they enjoy coming here with my in-laws when it isn't summer camp. We have known Pastor Bob for years and he has been a blessing to our lives and well as all the youth. There are those entitled to their opinion but consensus says a lot.

I worked here for many summers in high school and college and CCF holds a special place in my heart. The grounds are beautiful! The facilities are some of the best on the mountain. Perfect mountain get-a-way! And amazing summer camp programs for the kids.
