Live outdoor entertainment that has all walks of life enjoying they entertainment weather it's homeless fights or games like chess, corn hole, ping pong and many other activities. I would not visit after dark without proper personal protection or security you trust. Be careful but enjoy the park and watch your children and belongings closely. (Also watch out for kids and animals around needles don't touch them ever!!)

Loved the over sized chessboard, pigeons eating a big choc cake, firemen memorial, carved totems and tree canopy topping.

Not sure which park you mean?
Yes, it is almost exclusively called pioneer square
Passive toys. They are brought out in the day.
A block back and forth, here and there, there are huge tents with dozens of homeless. There are druggies all around. The place is dirty and stinks of marijuana. I was there on a weekend, it was almost empty, the area is scary and depressing. Would not recommend to visit.
