Really nice Japanese garden. Very peaceful and you can ask for a free tour of the house. The house is very interesting to learn about. You can also buy fish food to feed the Koi that are in the pond.

A very nice garden with a Japanese house, fish in the pond! Enjoyed it a lot, but wish it was bigger!

Tea ceremonies are held in the large (15 mat) room facing the pond. Reservations are need as they most often sell out.
Hi! We cannot accept any requests for weddings, retreats, or other private events, as we do not currently have the necessary staffing.
I just went this past weekend and they are open. We bought the tickets on site.
Closed. Till April. We are here at 2pm Saturday Jan 19 and it is closed
I believe it was 10-12 bucks to get in. You can also purchase fish food for 2 bucks. the fish will actually eat out of your hands. they do have student discounts with ID and senior. maybe military I do not remember that for sure. Very nice and informative spot to go!
Hello Barbara, we appreciate your interest in hosting a wedding at Shofuso! Unfortunately at this time we cannot accommodate any private events, including weddings, parties, or receptions as it takes a great toll on our historic site and may cause damage to the house. We do, however, allow for private photography rentals if your party was interested in taking wedding photos on our site: https://japanphilly.org/rentals/
Hi Fahim, thank you for your interest in Shofuso. You can check out our admission prices at this page: https://japanphilly.org/shofuso/visit/ Tickets can be purchase in person at the admission window. We look forward to welcoming you at Shofuso!
No they do not
There's no limit to how long you stay inside the house grounds. But there isn't really a place to stay and relax. However, just outside the house grounds lies plenty of Fairmont Park to grab some grass and relax.
Yes plenty of parking
Yes, we will honor your advance ticket in 2021. This was an unusual year and we thank you for your understanding. Best, Kim
When cherry blossom trees are Flowering & its snowed!
Closed to public by OCT Christine.
There is a ticket booth at the entrance. Adult tickets were about $12 each. Credit cards accepted.
You can also not worry about the time & just absorb the surroundings.
If they permit it and if your wedding ceremony is small it can be done outside on a nice day. I don't see how any reception could be had. There is no hall there.
Just give them a call before heading over. The staff is very friendly and would be happy to help!
They close it for private events.
Anyone can go. I went a month ago with just my boyfriend and I.
Bring your camera and enjoy. No fee to see the trees.
Parking us free ..to the left of entrance....but is limited....maybe 10 to 15 spots
There is parking around the outside perimeter of the property, towards the trees, not very well defined but it works.
You can see some parts of the garden from outside the house (still need to adhere to the horticultural center hours).
Discounted tickets are available through Groupon and Living Social sites
They have a small table setup with various small gifts like tea set, green tea, Japanese gift wrap/scraf and other small items.
