Beautiful! Mid-June was the perfect time of the year to see lots of wildlife and flowers galore. Lots of roads and trails to explore with alpine desert flora on the tops of the hills and a few feet down the side it completely changed. Moose every where, even had a coyote walk thru camp.

Beautiful Area with trails, hot springs, campgrounds, lakes and more.

Great hike, beautiful scenery, and a must do experience. Approximately 5.5 miles to Alice Lake. Approx. 21.6 loop to breathtaking views and lakes. Bring some good hiking boots and bug spray as the uphill journey is long with 4 water crossings. You can hop the rocks or walk on falling trees or just wet those working feet. Awesome hike for the challenge and surrounding beauty. Dogs are welcome on leash but make sure they are conditioned for rapid elevation gain. We will be back soon!

Best answer is to look on the website for the part of the forest you are visiting. Some are a first come basis--no fee and primitive camping, some can be reserved, some have hook ups and that will cost. Check the website fir the Sawtooth National Forest and select the part of the mountains you plan to visit.
there's some nice ones in Sawtooths above Fairfield nice with Corral's ones called sawtooth camp ground little used to there are several others.
It is the best place to go camping and enjoying getting back to what God created
I agree. No cutting is allowed. Dead wood can be used in the area if fires are permitted
Yeah he should be safe
If anything May can be early if you aren't prepared for cold weather. While uncommon, it is a good idea to plan for snow. Check the weather often when in the high country.
No just hang your food up from a tree limb each night
