went to the Discovery Museum with my kiddos at work for a field trip and they had a great time! The museum is clean and friendly. The outdoor area is beautiful. The therapy dog was a huge plus. 4 stars only because I do wish there was possibly some more group activities. However we would definitely come back here again!

What an amazing place to take toddlers, young kids and big boys. The museum has indoor and outdoor areas. There's even an awesome kids friendly trail outside. They have various activities, fun games and different attractions for everyone. The staff is super friendly and very knowledgeable, always willing to help or explain everything. Go prepare for a couple of hours stay, take some snacks for the little ones

We have a 3 year old and 11 month old who absolutely loved it here! We went at 10 am which was perfect timing for lunch/ nap but they have earlier times that you can choose from. We paid $40 for 4 of us. We used our AAA card to get $2 off each ticket. 2 adults, 1 toddler and our 11 month old was free. They have cubbies for your belongings as soon as you walk in and a bunch more if you continue down the main hall past the family bathroom. One note about the family bathroom is that there is a training seat attached to the potty for toddlers learning which was such a fantastic find for us! This is the only family bathroom that we found but there are other bathrooms on the second floor. There is also a nursing nook on the second floor also with a curtain and a comfy chair for nursing moms. This was also extremely helpful as I am nursing. The first room you come across is the water play. I highly recommend doing this last and also bringing change of clothes!! My daughter had a smock on that they supply and her sleeves that were rolled up were wet, pants hair and shoes were wet. So plan accordingly for this room. There is a play area on the second floor for infants and crawlers which was really nice. This is in the same section as nursing nook. My husband took our 3 year old to build Ramps in the ramp room since it wasn't going to be good for our 11 month old and I went to the room right outside that had a life size connect 4 and chess set. Our baby loved crawling around there. Hope this is helpful and enjoy it it's so much fun. Side note: there is a tree house but we didn't go in it this time since it was cold out but it is open in the winter!

Pros: - lots of really cool and unique activities for kids - sweet military discount Cons: - tons of people, despite having a reservation system - made me toss my coffee Overall, we would go again. Our 3 year old had fun.

My kids loved it when we went, ages 6, 8, 11, and 15 (and I think my husband had as much fun as the kids!)
Recently our visits have been 2 plus hours, it would be easy to stay longer there is so much to explore!!
No more cost for the treehouse
According their website Patriot's Day & School Vacation Week OPEN 9:00 AM - 4:30 PM
There is now one larger museum building (at the top of the hill). This building contains STEM and STEAM exhibits on the first floor, and rooms for our youngest visitors on the top floor, including Bessie's Diner, the train, and the sailing ship. There's also a treehouse and garden adjacent to the large museum. Our new, expanded campus includes walking trails in Discovery Woods. The smaller building you may remember, an old red-and-yellow house, now houses staff offices. Bessie is still here at the entrance to welcome you! We hope you will visit soon.
Admission is $14.50 for adults and kids over 1, and free for kids under 1, $13.50 for seniors. This gives you access to our entire campus for as long as you'd like to stay. There are many discounts available, check out our Ways To Save page for more info https://www.discoveryacton.org/visit/ways-save
My 7 year old had a blast

A 3 year old will LOVE this museum! So many activities. The beauty of Discovery is that children of all ages can have fun.
Hi Bray, we close the treehouse if there is lightning, then we’ll close it for 30 minutes after the last strike. But aside from lightning, it is open 12 months a year independent of weather !
Not sure but well worth the money. Nonprofit your money goes back into the Discovery Museum
