Absolutely loved it. When we showed up the lady selling the tickets was so sweet 💜 The conductor was so funny and had so much information. He also cleaned the seats right after it rained so we could sit outside again and the ride was so beautiful 😍😍🌻⛰🗻🚞 we will be going back with our daughter and we cannot wait!

The staff was so attentive, the train cars were clean and we even had a surprise visit from the main man himself, Santa Claus. It was a delightful surprise. Pricing was reasonable, the views are stellar. You can even open your window in your booth area for good air flow. Just a heads up, the restrooms are port a John's, not filthy, but I didn't know so heads up! The gift shop is cute. We had a great experience!

Great trip with our toddler, she even saw Santa on the train. There could be some improvements on the food options but over all this being their first year with the Winter train it was great! The cars have been beautifully redone, the staff was exceptional and we are still smiling about it :)

My wife and I had the pleasure of taking this train ride mid-September when the railroad was offering their fall special. The train went up the mountain farther than usual to give us views of the spectacular aspens as their leaves turned golden and orange. The weather was perfect and the views of the mountains, valleys, and fall leaves was amazing. The conductor was also the tour guide and entertained us with stories regarding local lore and the history of the train and the mines it serviced. We have been on several train rides of this type and this was definitely on of our favorites!

For 2018 the train shuts down October 7th. Beautiful Fall trips ahead!
2 1/2 hours total. The train backed up and then reversed coming back. So unless you change sides you will see the same scenery both ways
I was able to buy tickets without reservations a couple weeks ago. I believe you can get a discount by purchasing online, so it's probably to your advantage to buy online, even if you're sitting in the parking lot trying to catch the next ride.
Yes they close October 6
Suggest go on-line and book tickets
Yes dogs are absolutely allowed on the train. I took my dog, they just ask that your dog doesnt bother anyone. And you have to sign a liability form.
20-30 minutes...there's never been a free for all seat grab in the 2 times I've been there as most people want to see the view out in the open.
I saw a dog when we went but it looked like it could pinch them the way the carts are with wooden floors.
