We have been taking the kids here for well over a decade and always have a wonderful!!! They have multiple trails and all are fairly easy to trek with the chillins throughout the whole park. We have definitely had the opportunity to camp in a trailer as well as a tent. This place accommodates both very well. Very gorgeous views the whole hike through. Also we like to hit the fish hatchery and the ice caves when we do come out this way

I have hiked to these falls in the winter a few years ago, which made me want to hike again in the spring, and let me tell you, they do not disappoint no matter the season. Instead of hiking the main trail we hiked coyote trail, after paying for our parking pass at the main entrance, which was absolutely magnificent! It's a fairly easy hike, the pups enjoyed themselves thoroughly, and there are lots of caves to explore along this trail as well as crystal clear mini falls surrounded by lush greenery.

First time here, and we loved it. Camped in a travel trailer with power hookups (only power available, no water/sewer) at the end of Oct with no issues. Absolutely beautiful park. Highly recommend visiting or staying during the week for a more relaxing experience (less crowded). Deer walking around camp are common. All hikes are short with lots of little caves to explore - be sure to bring a headlamp / flashlight. We'll be back for sure.

One of the best camping trips and it was so beautiful. Rangers and attendants were very helpful. The tent site 014 was the best one in my opinion not to far from parking lot surrounded by nature. Hiking trails were not very difficult , short and beautiful. Nice caves to explore and the trail above the waterfall was spectacular. Loved this place... Definitely want to come again and again.

Your 4 year old shouldn't have difficulties. There were many kids there when I went.
You can fish at two ponds behind the falls and I've seen several people fishing at the bottom as well. You will need a current license and the Rangers check frequently.
A daily park pass is all you need. They are about $9 you can use them at any state park. The one I got last week expired at noon the next day!
Fishing is actually pretty decent I know for a fact there are different trout species but unsure about others. 🐟
The closet major town is Glenwood Springs(45 min drive). But officially the park is in town of Rifle Rifle Colorado. You can Google weather for any of the above towns and get a good idea of how its going to be tomorrow
