We just got back today and it was awesome! Only $15 a night, rustic, on a beautiful river, get site 13 if you can, big site, near bathroom(vault toilets but clean) you can hear the river from your tent, secluded on 3 sides of the site. We didn't have reservations and arrived on a Wednesday, self pay station but no wood for sale on site so pick some up. The campground is very quiet and clean! Its near Bayfield and Ashland so we day tripped to those places. Took our 2 boys to a sandy beach in Ashland and spent the day in Bayfield which is the most adorable town, we'll be staying there next without the kids! If you go, you have to stop at Frog Bay Tribal National Park...cool hike into the woods that leads to the most breathtaking view of lake superior...such a beautiful beach, crystal clear water, it was so great! I cant say enough about that area...we had a blast!

-Poor up-keep of the toilets. (Bad flies, lights not working.) -Parking lot has several *deep* potholes and large puddles. -Neighboring residents are fairly rude, and like to pretend they own the campground property (letting dogs run through the sites, etc) -Manager is unpleasant to talk to, and simply unhelpful. Claims to have no power to fix problems. -The county road cutting through the grounds has a lot of pickup and ATV traffic tearing, through at speeds of 55-60 mph, *all night long*. Despite the drawbacks, the creek is beautiful, and the trees are nice.

We heard this was the spot to go for trout and salmon fishing. We saw a few "fully geared" fisherman going in and realized we were unprepared for the walk in. The trail was washed out. Definitely need waders here but looked very promising. Fun to explore regardless. Offers rustic camping.

Quiet, rustic campground right on a river with trout!!! Sights are roomy and most are fairly level...pit toilets and pumped water available. I love this type of campground for shorter stays!!
