We had my father’s funeral service at one of their pavilions and they handled the military honors and burial. Everything was done with precision and compassion. If you are a veteran I highly recommend Riverside National.

This is such a beautiful cemetary and if gave this a 1 star for this reason....Its a shame that nobody works on the weekends to empty out the trash cans except for Holidays. On Memorial Day weekend this place was in immaculate condition. No trash on the floor and people working the weekend to make sure trash cans were empty. People that served our country are burried here and they deserve the best! Most people visit and bring fresh flowers on weekends and nowhere to put trash because the cans are full. Please do something about the trash everywhere.

We came to visit and teach our children about Memorial Day. This cemetery is vast and beautiful. I have learned that the Riverside National Cementary is the largest of all in the United States. So many stories one can learn from reading the several placards scattered throughout the cementary. Even on a busy day like today you can find areas of tranquility. The memorial to the medal of honor soldiers is a sight to see. I would recommend good walking shoes and parking at the entrance off Van Buren. I was told inside the administration office there are several war artifacts however it was closed due to Covid policy.

To set the context of my review, I was heading home after participating in the XtraKredit Feed The IE project in which was actually a short drive away from RNC. I took the opportunity to visit my grandpa, to pay my respects, and to share the real and great things I have done in the month of November. I was glad to find that the RNC was open on Thanksgiving Day and it was easy to get in and easy to get out. I hope to honor my grandpa the more and more I tell stories here on Google and everywhere else that I post reviews and stories. Thank you to everyone who served, and thank you to everyone who has family and friends that served and took the opportunity on the Day of Thanksgiving to honor, to respect, and to love their buried loved ones at RNC.

Also if no one there, ( on weekends ) they have a kiosk machine. Its similar looking to a bank ATM machine that dispense money. (If only) type the loved ones last name then a list shows up with similar last names, there you can find.... The machine location is directly next to the front entrance of the administration building. I got to take a pic next time i am there
That would be awesome infact i suggested that idea. But yet they do not have a place nearby that would accommodate a gathering. Oh but the Mexican kitchen off cactus has delicious items on the menu. I reviewed them. Its a hidden gem
That's a really good question, and typically one would park close to the site where a loved one lay. It is a big place. So what im saying is as long as other vehicles could pass along side your vehicle, its ok to park just about anywhere. Don't forget to share the roadway. There are many patrons that visit loved ones daily.
Yes....
Let me find out today I will get back with you .have a nice day .
Hi Ronda I be more then happy to do so. Please , send me your Father's name and DOB. I'm planning to go visit my cousin Ysabel Ortiz whom he was just brought back home with us after 70 years from the Korea war. I live very close to the Cemetery in Riverside. 🙏❤ Denise

No hall. Yes you can take a Christmas tree, you can set it up a few weeks before Christmas. A small one obviously.
You just call Riverside national cemetery, and let them know what you would like to do. And they will tell you what you can do about your request.
Yes. There are usually ppl just outside the memorial park, selling flowers. From 5 dollars on up. You can also place them on the site in which your loved one, rests.

Yes, that's correct. (I still would discuss that with the cemetery representative in advance, though.)
Thank you Sir🌞
There really aren't much restaurants in the area. Just fast foods.. you might have to go out of Riverside to find good restaurants 👍
Recommend to visit RNC ( Riverside National Cemetery). The representatives have info to provide, as well as, any questions, concerns, you may have. Times 8 am to 16:30 pm. Always someone at the desk.
I think I read a week before Christmas and that they can stay until after new year.
Wife ,husband and children can be added but I will call for more specific questions and information
Gates are open Sunrise to Sunset.
Acapulco in Moreno Valley did a wonderful.buffet for our private group of 25 people in our own.private room at a reasonable cost. It could not have been better and is a short distance from the cemetery .
Flowers are picked up everyday it depends on the section to make sure your flowers will be there on Mother's day weekend put them out Friday night after mowing
To be buried there you must be a Veteran with an Honourable Discharge, Document D D 214 will secure you a Free Burial. Just because you are related to a Veteran does not qualify a burial!
I believe to be buried here you have to be a spouse of a service member with verifiable documentation andor of course a service member themselves.
The office is not open on weekends and holidays

You should have seen the temporary marker over her spot. Depending on if it's a casket or cremation... Casket. Buried 7 feet down in a concrete vault, then covered with dirt and HARD packed...really hard. Turf is laid on top after enough graves are prepared to procure about 5000 sq ft of grass. Cremation. They drill about a 10 inch diameter hole and lower the cremains down in a stainless container, then HARD pack the dirt on top covered in the grassy plug they extracted to drill the hole. The headstones take about four to six weeks to install. I hope this helps.
Sorry i really don't remember

This is a good question as I left a small potted Christmas tree for my Daddy this most recent holiday. I'd love to know the answer to this as well.
There are vases already at the entrance to the burial sections for use

Yes upon entering the cemetery you will proceed straight to the information booth. From there they will direct you to a staging area where you will wait with your party for the service. At the booth please ask for the restroom location
You can check the obituaries to see if any family members are mentioned and the location of his funeral I did a DNA ancestry test and found a lot of family members I would suggest contacting the VA if he was a veteran or the cemetery's office to see if he's buried there
I don't believe they allow flowers there. Please contact them directly to confirm. Thanks
Please contact riverside national directly
Um I'm not sure but u should be ok . I think that's the average size 10 inches to 12
I have done many service's there, but can't remember ever doing a weekend service. You should call and find out.
You go to the office , which is on the way into the Cemetery on the right and they have a kiosk right outside the door where you can search for your loved one and it will show you on a little map and give you the option to print it out also. Some use vinegar and soap, but I usually use A multi purpose cleaners. They still do the job. And if you like to try to keep it shiney, just rub a little bit of furniture polish on a rag and wipe it. It does the trick on my parents grave marker
Van's Florist and Angel's florist. They are both reasonable and they will deliver also to the graveside. You just have to let them know the full name and area where they are buried.
The Veteran has earned the plot and the burial service. The only costs will be with the funeral home for casket/urn. Cremation, embalming, etc.
Call cemetery for more information.
Call & ask them....if you're able to...go in person?
Yes but it has to be requested by your Mortuary
Lisa Marie Eubanks but is it included with the burial? That's the question I should've asked.
The cemetery plot and 30 minute service doesn't cost anything, the Veteran already earned it. The only costs will be from the funeral home.
If it's Military, they usually have one automatically. But it All depends on which type of military, air Force, Navy, etc.....but you can also choose your chaplain too.
Visit RNC's website. Go to "daily burial services" > select Riverside national cemetery as your cemetery >enter the last name of the deceased. First name is optional. > hit search.
They should be able to give you a date for your mother's burial when complete all services done by them are scheduled except for the ones on the weekend that the families handle their selves. We did my father-in-law's funeral on a weekend we had them take his body ahead of a time and bury him they have that completed in 2 weeks. It helped with cost a lot!
4:30pm
Yes. You can request a scheduled or unscheduled witness only. It's better to schedule a witness only. That way, the internment crew are better prepared. Rather then an impromptu event, where you may have to wait, depending on the schedule. Contact your Cem-Rep ahead of time, so it can be included in the schedule. Please note: First internments, second internments, cremations at a columbariums, cremations under ground, all can be witnessed.
I believe they have a chapel there they also do Honor Guard Services they can set that all up for you
The cemetery doesn't charge anything, the Veteran earned his plot. The service don't cost anything the military honors don't cost anything, the only costs you would have is from the funeral home services and the burial permit.
I deliver flowers there a lot the next time I go there I'll take a look I don't remember scene wreaths on the grave
You have to go to the main office and ask.

Staging area 2 is the right side curb as soon as you enter the cemetary from van buren you pass the check in booth and right after the small intersection it will be the curb on your right side. If you pass the restrooms building you've gone to far into staging area 4.
Call before you go so you can find out before you drive out there
It's better to have a full service florist make and deliver the flowers for you. Employees of RNC do not technically accept or sign for flowers (meaning they are not responsible for the flowers). You can try Van Buren Florist. Delivery and a picture is available.
