Great location if you’re starting out hiking or want a short hike. You could complete a portion of this trail in around 2 hours. There’s also a lot of shade along the trail which is handy in the summer months. Parking is available and costs $6 USD and they accept cash only. The trail is also well mapped and there are sign posts along the way to give you directions and distances.

We walked a very small portion of the trails in this park, therefore this review is incomplete at this time: definitely less crowded than the park on the opposite side of the road. Also we went on the evening when everyone was leaving. The hike was very easy as it goes through some easy slopes of ups and downs. The trees look much younger than other redwood parks in the area. The temperature was equally warm but also humid. So in summer time, it is best to hike in the morning.

Beautiful park. Most of them are Shaded trails. Ample parking and picnic tables but $6 to park.

A beautiful hiking trail which is not very crowded. The redwood trees give ample shade to cozily hike. There are picnic areas, playgrounds, restrooms around in a lot of stops inside the park. The breathtakingly tall trees are the identity of this park. There’s a small water stream on the east side of the park along the Crystal Springs trail and Richard Road trail (visit when California is not in drought).

Hi Michael, Bikes are only allowed on the paved service roads. A lot of road cyclists use these roads to cut through on their way up to Skyline. You can see the map https://parks.smcgov.org/sites/parks.smcgov.org/files/HuddartMap-Nov2018-FINAL-web.pdf Hal is incorrect though there are plenty of mountain bike riders who use natural surface roads it is not allowed and damages the trails for other users. Re: Dr_Why??
No dogs are not allowed
We're not able to take credit cards now. You can self pay by dropping your cash payment in payment station at the park entrance. Or, you can purchase a park pass for $60 that is good for one year from date of purchase and allows you to park without fee payment. https://parks.smcgov.org/san-mateo-county-park-pass
Creeks are great ways to observe how water flows (when not in a drought) and small animal life that depend on the water. It is not an area that supports swimming and water toys are not allowed.
There's just an entrance fee. No reservation needs.
Yes, from 8 am to 8 pm everyday. Navigate all the San Mateo County Park trails on the OuterSpatial app.
Yes. But plan your party to start early because park closes at 5 PM and rangers write tickets after it's closed
Portable propane grills are not allowed. There are BBQ pits in the picnic areas (check park map at Smcoparks.org) in which you can bring and burn charcoal.
There is a network of trail s so you can create yiur own path. From the looks of it, Crystal Spring and Richards Road are lengthy and in shade.
Please check with rangers. Given high fire alerts and conditions, we work with local fire agencies to determine if fires can be allowed. Call Huddart Park at (650) 851-1210 for status before your camping dates.
Thanks, Joseph, but that wasn't the question, need to go back further in California history
No, bicycles are not allowed. The trails are for hikers, runners, and horses only. Please don't bring your bike. Road bikes can use some of the paved roads through the park only.
Open to the public. Entrance fee is by car not by number of people. You can walk in if no car. For organized group picnics and overnights you need a reservation
It shouldn't change for this holiday. Sunrise to sunset you should be ok.
Yes the Toyon 3 campground has a full ADA bathhouse with showers
