My friend and I went to this place a few weeks ago to go on a manga hunt. We had to come back multiple times because the hours on the app and when it actually opened weren’t the same. When we entered we had to purchase a drink to enter; which was quite odd, but we followed along with it. Inside it had a mildewy smell, but had lots of fun games and some rare titles. It was super fun—cant wait to go again.

HAHA love seeing this guy respond to know-it-all window shoppers. On a more serious note, about a year ago I went to this same store wondering if this was going to be a comic exclusive shop, and lo and behold, some of the best tasting sodas I've ever tasted, and to my surprise, a sizable Manga selection to choose from. Knew I had to buy once I saw the soul put into the place. Service was great and I can't wait to go back.

I’m not from California and I love to go to different comic shops. I travel a lot over the U.S. My brother and I decided to stop by this comic shop while on vacation. Unfortunately this was a very bad experience as we were not allowed inside without first having to purchase a drink. The owner then talked down on my brother and I like we were dumb. If I was you I would not visit this store as the owner is much worse then a millennial.

Back in January I took my daughter down to Ocean Breach. It had been well over a year since I had visited the area. She was excited to patron the local comic book shop as it was recommended by a friend. Unfortunately, we were not permitted to enter without purchasing a beverage. The owner sited COVID regulations. Oddly enough we had already shopped in several of the other stores without such issue. The owner was quite rude and unprofessional. From the entrance we could see that the store was rather dank and not worth fussing over. My daughter did however write a review on Google maps that day. Nearly two months late the owner replied. The owner must make a habit of turning people away as he referenced a completely different patron and her friend in his repugnant reply. Regardless of the of the individual he was referring to, as a business owner his response was revolting and unprofessional. There has been an obvious influx of transients to the Ocean Beach area. That being said, it is still poor business to trash talk potential patrons. For anyone considering this establishment I recommend looking elsewhere. Do not reward the disturbing practices of this establishment.

What are the Covid safety practices like here?

Galactic Cantina Comics and Video practices safe covid-19 protocol. Masks are mandatory. Hand sanitizing stations are located throughout the store. Social distancing is enforced. In addition we Limit the number of persons in the store. As a result of these polices, our decorum and protocol is the same as a coffee shop. We DO NOT let in walk-ins without making a small purchase (at our Cantina) in the same way that a restaurant does not seat people who do not intend to order. We encourage visitors to enjoy a craft soda, a CBD beverage, a tea or candy snack while experiencing a retro throwback full of nostalgia and excitement! This policy cuts down on the ancillary tourist traffic who simply want to Snap photos and enhances safety for our serious comic clientele, our regulars, subscribers, our video rental members, along with those who make appointments or come for order pickups.

This a shot in the dark, I am look for some particular trade paperbacks from DC's Milestone. Do you by chance have copies of "Static Shock: Rebirth of the Cool" and/or "Icon: A Hero's Welcome"?

I'd go in and have a look around. They have almost everything and I can't imagine them knowing everything they have. Also, you just might find something you want and didn't know they had. I got issue #2 of San Diego Comics with Hell Boy's first appearance. True treasure chest of OB.
