I went to this DMV for a renewal of my driver's license because it was close to my work, and the employees are professional kind, and helpful, I was so impressed with the organization from getting in line to waiting for my number to be called. Thank you, DMV for making this day stress free for me, I really appreciate it.

Went to get my real id without an appointment. Wait was about 45 minutes. The guy who helped me seemed impatient, almost comically so because this is, after all, the DMV. All in all, not a bad experience. Everyone paused to sing happy birthday at one point, which was cute.

The worst experience ever I had at the DMV Was right here (Van Nuys DMV). All I wanted is to get the registration for my new kayak with small electrical motor. DMV application ( Boat 101 ). The staff was rude and ignorant including the supervisor who’s not only didn’t know the rules but also didn’t even try to ask someone else who could know how to correctly fill out and submit the registration. Instead she just try to blame on manufactory saying that The document they gave me was not sufficient (which it was) but also they were trying to send me to local Marina and get some paperwork which doesn’t even exist. Completely nightmare!! After spending 2 hours with them doing back-and-forth I decided to drive to another DMV in Arleta. The young woman who was trying to help me admitted that she never done it before (motorized kayak) but she was so humble that instead of blaming on someone else she did her research and did it entire process in 20 minutes.

The people working behind the counter are nice but do NOT take your road test here if you want to pass. My son got an instructor that looked to be about 80 years old and had difficulty walking. My son said he drove the best he ever had (and thought he had made zero mistakes) and was failed for a "dangerous maneuver" that was merely slowing down to pass a car on a narrow street. The examiner proceeded to write a short novel of all the other "mistakes" my son made and also said he "didn't have control over the vehicle". We watched this guy fail the two drivers before us so it seems this is what he does all day long. I cannot imagine him passing anyone. You might end up with a decent and fair examiner but I would suggest not taking the chance!

cuales DMV hatred manana sabado 29 apostolic 2020
So sorry, Yefim for this bad service , 😔
No they need to verify your fingerprint and take a picture of you for your photo ID
Making an appointment will save you much time and frustration.
I need to make an appointment to take my drivers license renewal. My Birthday is June 9, 1947.
What do they ask for to get the new license when one travels to Mexico
Yes you can make an appointment by calling DMV or by using the DMV Website
Hello, I asked the person who attended me and he says that it can be done online.
You must call the DMV to make an appointment, you don't have to wait on hold for an hour, just follow the prompts and you can leave your number and they will call you in order.
You can take same day appointment only in online.
Just show up 8:00 am and they will renew your license in five minutes with no writing test
No writing test they just give you your license
Lolol....
Make an appointment. You can visit the DMV and pick up a free copy of "Rules of the Road."
If your just renewing then yes you can as well as change of address. Check online it will give you the info you need
It is important to make an appointment. With no appointment you can stand in line for hours. The driver's exam is offered in many languages. The internet wull also provide information on the documents required. be sure to get your copy of rules of the road, it's free, and will provide the answers you need for the written driver's exam.
Sure, call or go to the website. The website is quicker and easier.
They give you a temporary one . Is a piece of paper only. You get the real one in the mail. I got it in a week. They tell you two to four weeks.
Phone.
Online
No. But go the DMV very very early to be the first on line.
Unfortunately it is difficult to understand because they do not take these opinions into account
Sign up online and get a confirmation code to skip long lines
Go on line or in person, last week, it only took me about an hour to get to talk to the service agent.
A federally approved and legal form of identification, for example, passport, United States birth certificate, or permanent residence card (Green Card). Social Security card. Two documents that prove your residence in California, for example, the rental agreement for your apartment or utility bills for your home.
Look up DMV.CA there you will find your city or a link that you can call an 800 number and make an appointment. When I called in last week I got an appointment the very next day and the place wasn't really all that crowded
You can do dmv website and make an appointment
Can be done in person with no appointment and very short wait times. Requires Passport or Green Card with photos and 2 other forms of identification with your CURRENT mailing address, no PO Boxes.
Unfortunately it's true. I have waited for ID, license plates and with my job state licenses. State and federal offices are quick to cash your check but are understaffed. I waited 3 months for plates and for my driver's license.
It's in the FAQ, you gotta read the site. Good Luck! 👍
You need to call the DMV to make appointment.
I don't know if there's a dmv office that doesn't have a long line. Patience is a virtue.
On line sign up for ID or DL
On line
Yes get in line early and you can done fairly fast. Opens at 8.Good luck!
I never saw online appointment system working, I think in person is better, depends on each person's experience.
Name a tax and we have it, and some you haven't heard of
And
Yes but it's packed Best go early or late
Go To the arleta DMV I'm person they gone help you!
Not sure about that at this location, but if you go there in person you could ask a dmv employee as they do come out constantly. You can probably even ask the security guy as well
For DL renewal go to the DMV web site!!! And do all on line
Well most definitely so
As far as I know they are not taking appointments only the people that already had prior to covid and only driving appointments. If you decide to go make sure you go early and fill the application online if not you'll have to wait twice as long hope this helps.
You can try two things if the call does not work then you have to do the level personally but be very careful because, as I realized, they do not serve many there are few, you have to be prepared
No.. just have to be there by 6am in line to avoid waiting in the sun . Dmv opens at 8:00am
They aren't giving new appointments, you have to do a walkup
No new appointments available, they are rescheduling old appointments but you can walk in, I only took an hour and a half
https://www.dmv.ca.gov/portal/make-an-appointment/
No appointment are available at the moment I was told they are only taking the appointments that were scheduled and not taken from the 3 months they were closed.
No but you will need a lot of time to stand in line out side. If you go to the DMV website you can see wait times in many locations.
Yes
Unless they started booking appointments again the answer is no temporarily. I was there four times in the last two weeks and no appointments were being made.
Call them and ask 🙃 DMV should be open now. Not sure about face to face tests but you should call and ask
I would go on kine and fill out the real id application. The only way this will work is if you can upload all your documents. If you can do this, you will get a confirmation that will allow you to skip the line. The confirmation page has to have a stop sign on it.
Setup an appointment online and make sure to bring the right paperwork! Website: https://www.dmv.ca.gov/portal/field-office/van-nuys/
how do i make appointment to renew drivers license
3 to 6 weeks.
If the Dmv is open and you are prepared for the test you should be good to go. Do not get panic for the situation going on all over the country we need to live our normal with precaution that's all.
I think so but better call the dmv
I wouldn't. The lines are long and you'd be waiting all day. Make an appointment
Yes there is Farsi language for writing test.
They accept debit cards
Fence for the new license. 2 Payment vouchers with the same address, your social security card, a work payment.
They probably do, but best to check the DMV website.
Check the DMV website, as they are not on this forum. I would think they'd probably work at least 1/2 day. Good 🍀
No you don't. Appointments are really geared for people who don't like waiting in long lines. It took me a little over an hour and a half to get my Real ID on a Saturday morning without an appointment at the Van Nuys location. The long lines move pretty quickly.
Most likely you'll need to sign the certificate of title (pink slip) for him. Write that it was a gift. They'll ask him how much he thinks the car is worth and from there they'll determine how much he has to pay. Also, he might have to do a smog check. I don't know if he has to change the license plate to a California one.
The Federal ID, which will soon be required to board an aircraft in the US, is a standard CA driver's license with additional identification required. The net will tell you acceptable identification requirements. Be sure to make an appointment. Without it, the wait can be quite long.
Ask for the manager and complain. If that doesn't work try sending a letter to the California Secretary of State. You may also send a note to The LA Times or the Daily News. It's best to come equipped with notes to explain what disappointed you and what is necessary to solve the problem. Good luck.
Report to the police as your car may have been stolen.
Once the fine is paid the car is free to go. However, there may be additional charges. Good luck.
Go to www.dmv.ca.gov/portal/dmv/detail/realid. Then click on "List Of Documents To Apply For REAL ID." This will give you a list of what you need to bring. Or you can go to this link https://www.aceable.com/blog/how-to-replace-a-lost-license-in-california
It is the same test throughout the state. Be sure to make an appointment.
No National Holiday.
The trick is get there at least one hour before opening. They get everyone organized by need and makes it all easier, especially on out days!
Your ID and appoinment if u have
Yes i believe you can but check with them they may have changed it. Check online to be certain.
Both
They open at 8 and close at 5
Presents with your appointment
If you don't have an appointment, be prepared for a long wait. Bring a bottle of water and an easy to carry snack.
Sometimes it takes a little longer .... even a month. I was told it goes to Sacramento and it's processed there, if somethings missing or wrong it could take longer. Keep looking in the mail it shouldn't be much longer. 🙏
If you have not done the driving test i will recommend you dont go to that DMV they will fail you for the stupidest thing....Go to the Arleta one is faster and easier
See if you can borrow a vehicle from a friend or relative. It's a good idea to practice driving around with in the speed limit. U could drive aroubd the Van Nuys DMV. Practice parralel parking, good 🍀😀 To rent a 🚗 U will need a CA driver's license..
not aware that van nuys opens on Saturday. but you can make an online appt
You can but don't forget your conf.# for time and date of appt.
What can i do since my id hasn't came in the mail for a month almost 2 ?
Go to the internet and find the list of documents required. Next, make an appointment. When you arrive, do not stand in the line. Rather, go to the reception desk. Enjoy the car.
Yes, of it is from California.
Everyone is being asked to bring in your birth certificate, social security card & a utility bill for renewals. Go on a Saturday morning at 7 am & doors open at 8 without an appointment. Make sure you study for the California handbook, in case you need to take a written test.
You'll need birth certificate, proof of resistance, passport if you have one. Maybe an old DL with a picture. And you can go online and fill paper work and get confirmation number and appointment, that's a lot faster than filling it out there or you can go in an get a Saturday appointment.
Yes there are on the counter when you walk in the appointment door. They have them in different languages.
No sure...usually with a regular drivers license DMV gives you 30 grace period to renew. You will have to do a written. Better get a California handbook & study. Make a appointment or walk up Monday thru Saturday.
When you show up at the DMV someone there can direct you to the appointment line. I'm not sure if you're trying to make an appointment or you already have one. If you don't have one I recommend making one online.
North/south street for Van Nuys DMV is Kester. It is located on the SW corner of Vanowen (not Victory) @Kester; just adjacent from Little Caesars pizza.
It depends on the make model and year of the vehicle to be registered.
You mean the carpool lane? You need two or more passengers. Not sure about a specific sticker for hybrids. Call DMV.
She has to go into the DMV office to take a new photo and the ID fee is now $31.
Probably. A replacement may have a different fee than a renewal however. Check the website www.dmv.gov and good luck.
And.
Good morning Of course I do. It works stable.
If you have the title and what is required (smog test) in one hour you will do everything. The title will arrive in the mail in a couple of weeks.
A month before will be better
If you didnt have full coverage, there is not much you can do.
Yes long line longer than a ride at magic mountain 😷
I need appointment too Gloria M lol if you received the paper in the mail you can do it on the new kiosk machine no line no appointment.
