Well, if you dont want to waste your time, money and energy, dont try a visa at this consulate. I have about 10 visa stamps on my passport and was never embarrassed the way I was in this consulate. There were many reasons to give visa but consulate decided to simply deny and yet claiming he is being helpful. He was rude and NOT helpful.

Where to start? My citizenship recognition process has been less than easy, not remotely the consulate's fault. Tereza has been a saint, responding to my countless emails and follow ups. After several months of back and forth, today I picked up my passport. I want to thank the whole staff, Tereza (worth mentioning 2x), Lenka, Katerina and Eva for the attention and patience. You're appreciated!

The Consulate General of the Czech Republic Positives: Very thorough and efficient Visa Application process Negatives: First-come-first-serve basis --> Waiting at ungodly hours As a Consulate General, I believe that they were quite accommodating and very efficient. I was applying for a short-term visa to visit Prague. 1. First-Come First-Serve - This could be considered a positive or a negative. For me it was a positive given that I applied for my Visa 16 days before my actual flight. Most other embassies or Consulate Generals in the states have an electronic appointment system which is booked out 3 months in advance. Down side to this is having to wait outside the Consulate General 5 to 6 hours before opening to ensure you will be accommodated. I flew in from San Francisco on the Monday Night and showed up to the Consulate at 4:00 AM. I was surprised to see 3 people already waiting before me. --> If you want a 100% chance of getting an appointment as a walk-in. I suggest you show up latest 5:00 AM. The Lobby opens up at 7 AM for applicants where you will sign a list as a walk-in. After this, you will have to wait again till 9 AM to be admitted up to the Consulate General on the 11th floor. Once at teh Consulate General waiting area, you will be called based on the order of your sign up on the list. 2. Application Process - Their website outlines several requirements that you should have on hand before the application (approximately 17). There were people that I had seen get rejected due to missing up to two different items. if you are missing one item, They were more than accommodating, asking you to email it to them. I suggest if you have to email something, email them on the same day of your application so you don't face any delays. Your Application and documents will thoroughly be checked, after which, they will proceed to scan your fingers and request for payment. NOTE: They will only accept U.S. Dollars, not Euros. Try to bring exact change. CONCLUSION: 1) Make sure all your documents are prepared - double or triple-check your requirements based on their list. Missing items could cost you delays. 2) Make sure you show up EARLY. I would suggest 4AM and download some movies to keep you busy. Overall a good experience.

Extraordinary experience! After many failed attempts at different Consulates around Los Angeles area we felt hopeless. All of them have minimum of 2 months wait period for the travel visa. Not the Czech Consulate! The staff is warm, friendly, and very accommodating. They do have firs-come-first-serve system in place, so I definitely recommend to arrive on a specified day at the specified time (available on their website). Once you arrive they go above and beyond to help as many people as possible within the assigned time frame. I followed the instructions on their website and was able to get my visa with no problem. They even provided me with booklets and maps for my trip! I want to take time to thank the Czech Consulate staff because without their help my family would have to cancel our long planned vacation.

We are planning to take trip to Czech Republic on July/2022 for two weeks. What is requirement as far as Covid respective. We've all been vaccinated.
You should be able to find that information out on their website. They list all days that the consulate General is closed.
American Citizens dont need Visa to visit Czech republic. If you are not american citizen check if you need to apply for a Visa. If you do need a visa, then yes you have to get one even if you plan to visit for a week or less.
