Chicago’s gem of fast food. While the prices may be a tad higher than other franchises, the difference in food taste and quality is remarkable. Smiling staff and the antique feel of the place create a cozy environment where you feel welcomed in. After eating here for years, I have only had one small issue, to which the manager responded very kindly and professionally with. A must-try if you aren’t from the area.

It was my first time at this location of Portillo’s. My expectations were high because I know that Portillo’s never disappoints when it comes to the service, the food, and everything else. My expectations were met after I ate inside and I got to see how clean the place was. The interior of Portillo’s is unique to any restaurant around, and it really feels nice which is something casual and very comfortable. The service, as I expected, was also nice, although the food took longer. The restaurant is also very busy, which is why it took longer for me to get my food, but when it comes to the staff, I would say that they are very friendly and accommodating. I just got some hot dogs, fries and a drink and all of it was good, perfectly cooked and tasting really delicious. Their food is definitely the best that they offer because, first of all, they have a wide and varied selection on their menu. Second, the prices are fair and reasonable. Lastly, and most importantly, their food is of the highest quality. It is good comfort food that has a delicious taste. I highly recommend this restaurant for delicious food and good service that is worth every penny.

Service was pretty fast inside although they had a long and busy drive-thru. All of the food was fresh, hot and tasty. The staff were upbeat and friendly. The bathroom could have used a little attention, but not horrible. From where we were sitting, we could see multiple people pacing around the desert counter for quite a bit and getting frustrated. If you don't have enough staff to cover that counter, there should be a sign instructing customers to go to the main counter. Also, the handicap spaces were constantly filled by delivery drivers, running in to grab orders off the rack by the door. This is horrible to witness as elders with a cane hobble in from mid-parking lot, as 20 somethings dash in and out taking those spots by the door.

I tried to do a pick up order on phone but they would not without credit card with no option to pay cash which is a huge inconvenience. So I ordered at drive through, bacon cheeseburger and fries. I received order in a timely manner but I found the burger patty a bit to dry for my liking(it was burnt and taste like charcoal). Staff was very friendly.
