Fantastic collection of Japanese knives and tools. For cooking, sharpening, bonsai, carvers, etc.

Amazing customer service. They sent me the wrong item. I sent an email late Saturday afternoon expecting to get a reply by email on Monday or Tuesday. Within an hour I received a phone call saying they had a made a mistake. They were sending the correct items with a return label. I cannot remember the last time I received such great customer service. I would definitely buy from them again. Plus they had the items I wanted that were out of stock at everywhere else I looked.

I am on the east coast, but I purchase knives and tools from Hida online. I appreciate that they are curating a fine selection of japanese tools at affordable prices. And when I once received a damaged knife in the mail from them, they replaced it at no cost to me and in very rapid order. Top notch customer service!

Go to place for high end Japanese gardening and woodworking tools. They have everything you need to keep your saws, pruners, loppers sharp and clean and lubed. Small shop but well organized. Very helpful staff.

No we do not.
Mask requirement, hand sanitizer, and limited customer entry at a time. Customers can also place orders online as store pickup, which we can bring the tools outside and put it in back of your car. Thank you
Normally shipping takes 3-5 business days. For Canada I can't really say for all our recent shipments to Canada are taking much longer than usual. Please use the inquiry form on our website for questions. Thanks!
Check out their website and catalog online.
Hi, you need to take the chipbreaker and mainblade and hold them together and look through the back end. You should not see any light coming thru and the blades should not rock against each other. They should touch completely where they meet. The other reason would be that the month of the dai needs to be opened up a little bit if the blades are actually not the problem. Remember that some people have three different planes to take different kinds of shavings... Going from rough to finish... The rough will have a big mouth and the finish plane will let only the finest shavings through so that tear out is even more reduced.
They do have a limited selection of drawer pulls and knobs.
