The signs were confusing, the trail would break off in the middle and not specify which was the lewis trail or the clark one. Started around 5 didn't finish until around 7 when it got dark. Had to use phone as a flashlight, couldn't see anything was really scary.

This trail is great. Beautiful scenery and views of the Missouri River. There were a lot of people there but it didn't feel crowded.

Questions & Answers

Want to hike here today with family, but unsure if hunting is allowed in this portion? Given we are mid-rifle season, anyone know if hunting is prohibited in surrounding areas?

Hunting is not permitted on property but it is nearby. You will most likely rifle fire. I avoid it during deer season weekends because of that reason.

Yes. I take my dog regularly and on a leash with no issues. I've seen many hikers there also bring their dogs. Be sure to bring water for you both!
