We had a fantastic time camping here! You get so many extras with camping at Silver Springs. The Natural History Museum was an awesome surprise. Quite big and had lots of interesting artifacts, fossil and local history. The prisoner village was fun to walk through. The other side of Silver Springs where the paddling and glass bottom boats are is absolutely gorgeous! We had an amazing time kayaking. We saw turtle, gators, fish, birds, river otters and a wild turkey!! The paddling is pretty easy- my 8 year old did it solo in his kids kayak. We also did the shorter tour on the Glass Bottom Boats- loved it so much! We loved hearing all the interesting facts and history of the park. Saw more wildlife. We went in June which is scorching hot but we were still pretty comfortable on the boat. There is NO SWIMMING anywhere in this park. The water is beautiful and pristine- so you’ll be tempted! But there is so much untouched beauty, it’s not surprising they don’t allow it.

I can’t believe I’ve lived in Orlando for 10 years and only went to Silver Springs State Park last weekend. I highly recommend getting on the water on kayaks. The water is crystal clear and you will see lots of fish and lots of turtles. We only saw one gator (which was fine with my girlfriend). We did see a mama and baby monkey which was a highlight for us. The park staff was super friendly. I’ll definitely be back soon!

Beautiful and only $2 entry fee. Wish CA would provide it's residents such value. Open and not crowded. Great to paddle around or take a hike. Clean restrooms and great staff. Didn't see a manatee but we were a little late.

It was a beautiful park, very worth the trip! Very clean and well taken care of. Small entry fee gives you access to a beautiful nature preserve with birds, gators, and manatees. Well maintained trails and boardwalks, nice view points. We will be back to take a boat tour and we will also rent kayaks directly from the park next time. You can also bring your own vessel and they'll shuttle you back for a small fee. Facilities on site.

3 types of cabins small, med large , look on Florida state park reserve America for rates , our huge cabin with bathroom , shower, kitchen with stove, fridge, ice maker freezer, dishwasher, micro, 2 bedrooms , live, dining room with fireplace and huge wrap around porch with huge outdoor fire pit and 4 parking spots was $125.00, which I thought was great !
yes they are allowed in the park but not on the boats or kayak
yes, they got wheelchairs
You may take your dog to the park as long as the dog is leashed and non agressive. I am there frequently with my dogs.
I've lived here all my life (even had my wedding there) & never knew they had a hippo, are you sure you are thinking of the right place?
