Been living 3 blocks away for 8 years but this was my first time back at Skippers in 15 to 20 years. I am very happy I decided to come back! The staff was very friendly, and genuinely seemed happy to be there, which is hard to find in food service, so I assume their ownership/management is doing something right! The fish and chips were very tasty. Not sure what the fish is breaded with, but it was delicious. Halfway between breading and battering, with a nice crispy outside and the fish inside was beautifully cooked. The fries were surprisingly delicious, and their sauces were great ad well. But let's talk about the shrimp. I got the original shrimp basket and the shrimp were out of this world. I would take theirs over Red Lobster or Outback every time. They offer a variety of all you can eat selections every day, and whichever is featured for that day is a dollar or two off. It's nice, but still worth just getting exactly what you want instead of only coming ln specific days. You can also just add pieces of fish or bowls of really good chowder onto any entree, which is probably what I'll do in the future. Top notch, and super glad to be just down the street! Might make this a place I walk to.for lunch weekly!

First visit with the new owners and definitely coming back! Our food was freshly cooked, arrived quickly, and tasted delicious! The fries remind me of the chips I'd get at a chippy or pub when living in England. The staff were amazing, helpful, quick to greet you, friendly and said goodbye when we left. The restaurant was clean! Overall a great dine-in experience. We had visited back when Monroe was under construction and during Covid restrictions to support a local business and the previous owner was extremely rude both times, the restaurant was dirty & the food was not good, so we had decided to not return, but once we heard there was new owners and heard so many good things about the place I'm so glad we decided to try them again!

Had lunch with my wife cause we have 3 kids and never get time to our selves, the place is in good shape and clean. There where only two people and a whole line of people. But between the cashier and cook they did a great job. Also want to say the cook did a awesome job handling a customer who was not very patient as well as the orders and making sure the other customers where happy and enjoying their food. Will return
DO BETTER
I've been to this location many times, for well over 20 years, and I absolutely MUST share this experience. I didn't get a chance to catch the gentleman's name that runs this Skipper's restaurant but between him and his staff I felt welcomed right away. I've never ever seen the place hopping along the way it was today and never been treated so important by the staff. The product was given to me with such care in the presentation and quality of preparedness and I will definitely be making special trips back to this location. It's a long travel for us but this may just become the old Sunday favorite we enjoyed back in the day. I hate to admit that I've eaten at these fast food burger places we all know. It's cost me $25.00 for two people and my order is ALWAYS wrong. This meal of all you can eat fish and chips with chowder and the all you can eat fish and clam strips with chowder for the same cost as the burger place is out of this world. I will pick you over them every day of the week. Thank you to you and to all of your team.
