Closest stops to the Burlington, NC station are Greensboro and Durham. Both are around a 30 minute ride if I remember correctly.

It looks like it takes between 35-45 minutes to get to the Durham station from Burlington. If you look at ncbytrain.org or at the Amtrak website, you can see what time trains leave Burlington.
