This place is a must go during really anytime of the year because it's a beautiful park but most especially during thr cherry blossom seasons. Come here with friends, family and go on a nice walk. There is also a beautiful church nearby that you can check out.

This is a unique park... lots of activities for all ages...lots of parking...but the crown is the cherry blossoms. Visit this park during the Cherry Blossom Festival and you won't forget the spectacle! I live not so far away from this park but had never attended a Cherry Blossom Festival...and I regret it...This a must attend festival. So unique and special, I am not missing it again...Got a feeling of finally, "Being one with Nature."

To echo many of the other positive reviews, I’ve been frequenting this park regularly over the last year and a half and I’m glad I found out about it! It’s easily the most beautiful urban park of NJ, if not the planet! I’m a little biased because I fell in love here, but it’s truly a gem, particularly in the spring and fall, and a relaxing place where you can walk for at least a couple hours admiring the native plants and the abundant squirrels. I love the extensive soft “track” path. Many sports fields, trees for hammocks, benches, clean bathroom facilities (open from spring to fall) and port-o-potties make this an all around 5-star park that offers something for everyone. Many thanks to the volunteers and caretakers for keeping it beautiful!

Beautiful cherry blossoms 🌸 We went for the cherry blossoms festival. It's from April 2 -10 th. Great place to see cherry blossoms. Daffodils are also in bloom. Free admission. Parking is hard to get but if you drive around free street parking is available. Beautiful views. Great photo opportunities. Pet friendly.

Indeed it is. Specially when you don't want to travel to DC.
The park has two very nice playgrounds that I know of. May be more around. Tons of recreational things to do too.
May be a little late. Try to go this week if possible!
Fishing is allowed in certain areas of the Park. I'm not sure if you need a license. I see alot of people fishing in the park all the time.
Yes you can they weren't fully out since its still cold 😩
Cherry blossom season usually starts in April
Yes it's open now. Its 24/7, park is always open.
Cherry blossoms are gone by the summer months
I think you should go this weekend .The 18 th may be too late.
Try this site: https://www.essexcountyparks.org/
Drive thru BBP first. It is 25mph. Then decide the best place to park.
I'm not sure maybe on the Bloomfield Ave side
During the Cherry Blossom Festival! It started April 6th and lasts til around April 13th.
Some are. They go in phases. I say this next week (7-13) would be a good time to come
Not that I know of between tennis & roller skating. Fishing starts soon. Usually everybody lets their dog run at some point on the trail..and they tend to chase the geese when off the leash. There is a family of red hawks that squirrel snatch between 5 and 11am, and it is deer mating season..I think. The park is huge, so check BBP website. They might have a dog park near the golf course.
it is a beautiful place
Am not sure if u can..but go to the city hall and ask they will give u more infomation
Not sire....was there last weekend...,. Should b some for sure....
By the parking lots within the park. Near the lion statues.
This weekend, 4/21-22 the trees are at their best. The cool weather has been great for keeping the blossoms longer.
One great point is that it's a huge park, stay in the Belleville area, it has three great playgrounds for little ones and is the cleanest part for picnics, the Cherry blossoms are beautiful there right now also.
They don't really bloom, so you may want to wait in mid-late April or early May.
The third week of April, the cherry trees will be very nice already.
Its a beautiful location and you definitely could . But you may need permission from the county parks commission before you do.
West side park? what about it?
Yes
A few years ago yes, now you can not grill in branch brook park.
YES
Cherry blossom every year they are beautiful
That was correct 1st and 2nd week of April.
I've never seen anyone BBQ in branch brook park
Yes
No, not true at all!
There are restrooms next to the basketball courts and by the lake near the Lions.
As per NJ fish and game it's stocked with channel catfish
And how I know when those things happening in the park .. is there a web?
Yes. Absolutely👍
No the parking lot is in the park. It is free . there are many places
They are PINK & in full bloom currently at the BranchBrook Park Lightrail not sure about the immediate surrounding area..especially with the expected rain.
Yes. Everyday they Bloom. Beautiful park
Not sure.Try the BBP website for scheduled public events.
Postponed
No sure. I would try the website/welcome center/tennis court/roller skating numbers of you cannot find a direct contact. Maybe they have a number for special park events, marathons etc.
Yes I have seen people play volley ball on the park.
Bball is by the roller skating rink diagonal to the community pool across the street.
It's a regular town park, that is famous cause someone planted lots of cherry trees. It's not an attraction sort of place. So you can't get electric scooters here. You can bring your own. And the visitor center has wheelchair accessible bathrooms and such, but it really just is a regular town park.
Yes, you can park in the side of the street and take photos, walk around and then drive to another location but the entire park is walkable.
the park is beautiful to see tmrw ,the only thing it might be hard to get a parking unless you get there early ,tmrw is family day at the park also ,Enjoy
No camping here.
Wait one more week to see the full blossoming. We usually drive through.
Nope. No fee. Bring your walking shoes.
The buds are here, but not much else yet. It is only my opinion that next weekend will be better.
Yes, some are. The old trees no, but all the newer trees are in bloom.
Not yet. We barely have buds on the trees. Most come lately to stare at the deer families. Try BBP website for accurate Cherry Blossom Festival info. Hope you come for the 4th of July fireworks & the car show in September on Mt Prospect as well.
April 6 thru 14th. Banner is up in last section of park
This is a great place to explore and have a great time!
It might be overnight. I think they have backup solar?
I'm not completely sure but if you contact City Hall parks maybe they can direct you to where you can get a free permission for usage if you want to throw party I'm sure it's not a problem
Contact the park commission near the sacred heart cathedral on Clifton Avenue by et 280
No. I dont think so... years ago they used to have paddleboats but im not sure that they do that anymore..
They also have paddle boats. Located across from skating ring
Any fire is not allowed. Therefore no grilling, campfires, firepit, mini stoves and so on.
I will suggest you call Essex County office to get clearance to avoid disruption while you are enjoying your events. It's just a phone call.
I do not think that you need a permit for taking the photos.
If You love Nature any form of vegetation make this World beautiful
Not as of last week
Not full bloom but,Yes some of them are already blossomed...
It depends on the day you go and have fairly amount of parking, just be prepared to walk.
I think the entrence by the church is the closest
The cherry blossom festival is the 7th of April But it also depends on what you want to do. Branch Brook park offers a variety of things
April is the best time to view the cherry blossoms in Bloom, and in May full bloom it's a beautiful site to see
During the day time is the best and if you want to see the cherry blossoms at full bloom May is usually the best time to visit.
Certain areas only but get something to lay on and have a picnic anytime!
Go on April 1, Easter Sunday or on April 7 or 8 the week end after. The temp should be in the high 50s or near 60 by then.
I would keep my eyes on the website because the weather has a lot to with how they bloom.
I would suggest you go to city hall or the park recreation and inquire within.
Not that I know of but to be safe its best to call the Essex County Park Commission, to cya.
Yes on the Bloomfield Ave side and the Franklin Ave side you just have to drive a short distance to reach them.
On lake st all day frfr
60% but would be better if people are considerate enough to do not break branches for photo-op.
